  1. I am looking to hire a compact tractor with a stone rake/power harrow to prepare a garden for seeding. I cannot find anyone in the Maidstone area or Kent for that matter. Will consider buying a small 2nd hand machine at the right money and moving it on after the job is done. If anyone knows of a company in Kent that hires or somebody that has got one to sell it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Daniel
  2. Hi I used Akro when I came and did a job in Glasgow area for a friend. Good service and clean straight machines. Defiantly worth a call Hire rates are on their site. They have both Timberwolf and Forst tracked machines. Akro Multihire Unit 6 Naysmyth Place Houston Industrial Estate Livingston
  3. Oops, never had that happen to me before. Can you see/get to it through the exhaust port.(remove the muffler) it is very unlikely to go below the cylinder so should be fairly to retrieve. Best of luck.
  4. Hi Haven't done one for a while but i found it was best to remove the spark plug and thread in some starter rope or the like, then turn the engine over until it locks on the rope. The thread is left hand and they are very tight. Once loose leave the nut on the stud by a couple of turns then pick up the saw by holding the aluminum casting and tap the stud as the flywheel is a tapered fit and it should come apart. Trust this helps. All the best.
  5. Hi Thinking about going for the first time this year, is it worth the trip ? Thanks
  6. I have just used Kent Plant Hire Kent Plant Hire for two tracked chippers after finding out about them on here. Both machine were fairly new, very clean and tidy so to Stuart and his team. A good service at a fair price.
  7. I've had Oregon and SIP trousers, end of last year brought my first pair of Pfanner Gladiators and will never go back to to any of the other brands, my mate is likewise and he was a loyal hi-flex fan. The comfort and flexibility of the trousers is amazing but it does come at a cost.
  8. I am after seasoned cordwood ideally hardwood, round the Maidstone Kent area. I would take either by the 18ft Ifor load on by the 8 wheeler load subject to cost and distance. I would want to take delivery in the next few of weeks. What i started a year ago as a hobby is now building up speed each week and I am struggling to met demand with my current sources. I would be grateful for any input from all you knowledgeable guys on here who have been in the trade for long time.
  9. One lucky man to be alive. At 5:25 yesterday on the way to work came across this poor bloke, an oak had landed on his van as he was driving along. His forward motion meant that the tree came off the van allowing him to get clear. He got out the cab with only a scratch to he eyebrow.
