  1. Do you reckon they'd take it back though? It's probably because it's too hot. Surface temp on the stove at this moment is 382 celcius...... :001_huh:

Just phone up and say its not working as it should. You could try putting on a trivet to keep the temp down for the fan and see how that works.

  2. I've got an Ecofan (had it for a few months) and I don't think it spins as quickly now as it did when it was new. The difficulty is that it's only rated to about 340 celcius, which on a big stove is a surface temperature that is often exceeded. Quite often, mine will run at 360-400 for long periods of time, sitting exactly at the top of the zone of best operation according to the flue thermometer. What is the point in having a big stove if you aren't going to run it hotter?

The only fan I've seen that is rated to a higher temperature is the Stirling engined fan, which can run at up to 450c.

Hi big j , you know the fans have a 2 year warranty.

  3. When we first got our fan we loved it but it had a fault. Returned for a replacement. But when it was getting sorted we noticed the room with the Stove didn't get as hot and the rest of the house was cold. Fan back on and the rooms hotter and the rest of the house is warm. Point the fan at the door and move the warm air out the room which gets too hot anyway. 33.1 was a new record for us.

  4. I only cut wood for myself and use husky chaps. Everyone slags them but they are cheep and you can take them off once you have finished cutting. So not to get too hot in the summer. You can also use them with shorts on if its really hot.

  5. I have a handy pro 7. Great machine. Electric , 7 ton. But far better than claimed 7 ton horizontal machines. When went for a machine with separate pump ram and switch. Then if it breaks I can upgrade the individual parts. All just connected with hoses. Look at parts drawings of any machine you ate considering.
