Hiya, I'm new to Arbtalk so just looking back at conversations/topics posted.
I work in Land Based Training at Berkshire College of Agriculture, which is probably too far for you to travel, especially at the moment. We have recently added ATV , side by side, NPTC courses to our offerings onsite at the College. We provide the ATV and include training, assessment and certification in the cost.
Hi. Thanks for your post. I'm sorted thanks. We ended up going with John jones training. As the recommendation from above. Great days training and a great fella. Highly recommended for any training. He travels aswell.

hi. Has anyone been on a atv sit aside course in the northwest? Did you go to them and use their quad or did they just supply the assessor? Thanks for your time.

On the husqvarna site it says xp is for saws over 55cm3 . Some of my kit is smaller. Anyone know why they specify for larger saws?

Thanks.I use both and can't tell any difference . -

Thanks . I'll try to not wash the dog in it then![emoji33] [emoji88]Just work out what you may like to clean in it and double up on the size. 2-3l should be ample if just doing a carb or two.
I can't say I use mine much and only resort to it if the carb has been cleaned with spray cleaners, has been refurbished and still has running issues. To use it on every rebuild would be uneconomical and a PITA.
They won't clean bio oil off cylinders or anything like that but are decent at getting crud and resins off carbs etc.
Keep your fingers out of them though - I have heard it can damage the structure of your bones etc.
Ripped this off one advert, sounds awful if true - The article recounts the story of a seaman who put his feet in an ultrasonic cleaner for a few minutes, said that it felt ‘good and relaxing’, pulled his feet out, stood up and applied full bodily weight only to shatter all the bones in feet. While we don’t have any independent verification of this story we still highlight it as it has a high probability of being true. Let us reiterate: Never run an ultrasonic cleaner with living organs in it. -
Thanks for the tip. I'll have a look at his channel.FYI, Steve’s small engine shop (YouTube channel). Says if you want to wash a carb then put carb in a glass jar in fresh fuel with lid on, as it stops the smell.
and put the glass jar upright in the US cleaner with the right amount of water in the tank..
this can be done for small things so not to lose them (putin a jar) and saves cleaning the tank of the US -
Thanks. Can you remember what size you went for?I got mine from this lot, well worth getting the stainless bodied ones with a heating element, I just use water and a squirt of fairy liquid, marvellous things.

Hi all. Merry Christmas. I'm looking at ultrasound cleaners for saw carbs. Any recommendations or warnings?
Thanks in advance. [emoji319]

Most parts are NLA for this Saw but it does share its chassis with four other models
112 114 117 119 and you find Parts saws come up pretty cheap sometimes
You’ll find it’s a strong Saw once you get it running
Thanks shave. I'll keep my eyes open. Can the carb be swapped for anything else or just refurb what's on it?

I have been gifted a 119. Compression is low and all rubber has perished . Is it possable to get parts?

Its great to hear such a positive comment. If you don't mind sharing, what was it that made you want to try Aspen in the first place? (e.g. dealer, friend, forum, advertising....etc)
I started using aspen after I had carb issues. Had it cleaned and rebuilt. Since then it's only had aspen. I only cut for myself and 5l of fuel can last me up to 9 months. Before aspen I had issues with my saw which I now know was bad fuel. Arbtalk first introduced me to aspen and I've been singing it's praises ever since. Are we going to see the combi set up that the aspen can fits into with an oil can attached?

I've been using aspen for over 2 years and love the stuff. Not had any issues due to bad fuel, no headaches and not a drop of wasted fuel. And my local husky dealer (skyland equipment) stocks it.

They are good quality rods. I've seen some places recommend sweeping a flue 4 times a year if constantly burning. I guess I'll sweep 3 times a year. I have notice a slight smell from the fire when the flue/chimney is congested. I have been quoted £65 to sweep a flexi flue . And that's not power sweeping. I'd say they will pay for themselves in no time. And I do like good kit.Oooph! Still they will pay for themselves in what, 3 years I guess. I dunno TBF I've never bothered to get a sweep in so can only guess what they charge. -
£238 including the bag. I always prefer to buy once. How much were they mate? -

I finally bought some rods. Big button power sweep 12mm. Fantastic bit of kit would highly recommend. If you send them a message you might get a small discount. Very helpfully chaps.

Hi. I've not got any rods yet. I've seen some for about £100 which look like they will do the job. Flexible with a brass screw joint. When I get them I'll update this tread. How did you get on [mention=39689]bikewoo[/mention]?
-
Thanks for your imput all. I am quite competent at most manual jobs and have swept my chimney for the last 10 years (bailey blue rods) . I was just looking at different types of systems for a flexible flue.
-
Thanks neiln. That's the best response ever.
-
Thanks Neiln . That was my worry. What set did you go for? How long have you had it? Would you buy the same again ?Sweep myself each year, it doesn't make any mess and doesn't take long. I have some bends in the flue so I went for a powersweep system, spent about £100 on a set as the cheap ones just worried me. -
Thanks for your imput . Is your flue in a stack or external. I've read that standard rods can damage the liner. I've got 1.5m Bailey rods but didn't want to damage the new liner. Just seeing what others are doing.I sweep my own once a year with normal rods and brush .
