  10. Has anyone have this equipment in the east Devon area ? Or know someone who does ??
  11. :thumbup:And the AAAC is obviously not for everyone
  12. There's quite a bit involved with being a AAAC depending on you size of company..less than 5 is micro business but that still involves going through how you run your buisness, regulations ect, I think it's a 1 day assessment for micro buisness and they want to see you dismantling a 15m plus specimen with rigging, they also want to see a tree that you have lightly reduced, and one that you have thinned !! . Also they will want to see a tree that you have planted in the last year or so, and looots on how you control your admin. Have a look at the AA Site they run preparation workshops ( very useful) all over the country which a very nice man Paul Smith will tell you what you need to do,. AAAC doesn't get you work but it certainly opens some doors for your business !! You also get the CHAS certification as part of the assessment (£60 I think) !! Hope that helps )
  13. Yep quite a few things to take into consideration with this one, mostly public safety, very busy main road to the front, a sheltered bus stop, and a public foot path all immediate targets !
  14. A couple of more pics from todays inspection.
  15. Arb rhino .. Definitely Chicken of the woods (laetiporus sulphureus)
  16. Crown in fine, has co-dominant stems starting from about 2.4 metres, this is on one of the stems 3.6 meters up either side, has had a 25 % height reduction in the past .. Thats is shown in my local council records, a pretty major amenity tree for my area with a 1.6 diameter main stem. Unfortunately a relatively new house been built too close with quite a large percentage of upper crown over the roof . I can't understand how these buildings get permission...unbelievable ...!!
  17. Around 12 foot up on a quercus in customers garden, 1 either side !!!

I bought 2 of them new earl last year just before the stock run out because of the 201t so it's literally been boxed since then, so had only been used for 2-3 weeks before it happened, so well out of warranty, I've rebuilt the top end now with an old pot and piston that still had lots of life in it. Piston in pic is obviously well shot ! , but I may get away with a little work to the pot and it should be good with a new piston....maybe Not nice having to do a top end rebuild on a brand new saw !

Don't try this at home...after cleaning out the air filter and replacing it, the very small lug at the seat of the carb decided to fall off and work its way through the carb, and dance like mad for a minute or two which resulted in this !! Damn and that saw had only been used for a couple of week !
  23. Yes there main arb teacher "nobby" left this year think they are trying to replace him. They have 2 "arb technicians" working there at the moment running the practical skills I think the highest course they run is the 2 year ND, so hence Merrist Wood !!
