  1. Good Evening all, Im looking for some help with a planning application, I haven't got access to the BS 5837 to check what the designated RPA (Root protection Area) for a hedgerow should be if it is specified. I am sure it does not share the same rule as the combined basal area for multi stemmed trees. . Any help will be much appreciated!! Tom Can anybody help please?
  2. Yes, i believe so, as you couldn't rely on a lump that size being stable to the centre. then adding the fillet on a less seen side once it has seasond and settled tom
  3. Interesting project, They used to turn columns in the whole rather than quartered, then saw a slot to the centre of the stem to control where shrinkage cracks would open up then wedge a fillit in to finish them. I missed out on a pto powered Lathe with girders for the bed for just this job not so long ago, if anyone knows of one id be tempted! Tom
  4. Afternoon all, Looking to see if anyone could help with my current project, i'm making a staircase for a friend, with each a tread a different timber, He has spent a significant portion of his life in Australia and wants a Eucalyptus treas to signify this. I have none sawn or dry, Does anybody have a piece, min 4' x 12" x min 1 3/4" to finish 11 x 1 1/2" It needs to be well air dried or kiln dried. im located in south shropshire, but travel through the following counties frequently enough to pick it up - Shropshire, Herefordshire, Powys, Monmouthshire, Gloucs, Devon and north Somerset. Any help would be much appreciated and financially / or beer rewarded! Tom
