Ah that's good to know, I've heard good things about them, my Passat that I have is on 270k so I'm confident I can get one to last if I look after it.
More interest in the mpg etc!
-
Now then,
Looking at purchasing a Hilux in the foreseeable future, I am stuck between the HL3 2.5l and the 3.0l,
the 3 litre seems to be more readily available, just wanting to know what the mpg differences are and other mechanical issues if there are any?
Cheers

Only really done quick stuff hence why I asked, never really spend a lot of time in the tree , even the bigger stuff that we live line is usually just a few bits to come off so I'm generally not doing loads to a tree.
-
Anybody use them?
I've found that I've stopped using mine since coming onto the the lines.
On a commercial job at the moment and there's a lad using one with a pulley in, made climbing lot easier, may have to start using mine again.

That'll be the 132Kv network belonging to Northern Powergrid; Fountains run the National Grid veg management.
Yeah Fountains have both for around us, I'm on the NPG one, don't really want to do grid work, trying to get myself about a bit!
-
How about looking into doing it for the National Grid / pylon people??
Usually Amey round here do ours....
I already work on the utilties on the NPG contract. Not much cutting goes on during the weekend

I'm punctual and hard working, I am by no means a climber, only being doing it for 4 months.
I have my own PPE, Transport and Climbing kit.
I'll be booking onto a MEWP ticket at some point in the next week or 2 so that's only day/days I am not available.
If anyone has anything please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Thanks
-
Ah sound I'll look into that.
Paul, I have to do both, fountains say that you have to have the Chainsaw with MEWP to be able to work on the lines.
-
Looking at doing my MEWP ticket with chainsaw as I want to go onto Utility work.
Now can I do a combined course? Or do I have to do the MEWP ticket then the MEWP with a chainsaw?
Also does anyone know of any running in the Yorkshire area?
Just spoken to TFK and they haven't got any running and there's no waiting list so that's a no go at the moment.
Thanks
Sam
