Kevin, In 1963 I was rowing up the Tamar in a clinker built boat from HMS Raleigh. I either didn't get that far up the river or I was too young to notice the beauty of those trees. -
The situation seems straightforward to me. Your 80+ years old person has appointed someone (a company) to handle her affairs. You now have to deal with them. Similar situation would be if a company you were dealing with was sold to (or taken over by) another company. You'd have to deal with the new company. They (the management company) will be dealing with her best interests and so would be presumed to be carrying out her wishes. In my opinion you have no right to insist that you continue to speak to her. I'm assuming that, by her appointment of a management company, she has no further desire for that to happen.

Looks a fine stick. Sorry, but I'm not about to offer you help to get rid of it. However, I have had a chuckle because every similar thread where someone asks "Would anyone like this?" has an early response saying "If only I was on your side of the country" or "If only I was within 200 miles of you". Imagine if you put it, for example, on Ebay and most of the responses weren't from bidders but from people saying "not interested". :biggrin:

Well Steve, you have plenty of suggestions to keep you busy and a few more to blow your mind. I have two things that I would like to see. 1. A built in spell-checker. 2. A "Log Out" button at the head of each page avoiding the need to scroll down to New Zealand to complete that simple task. Good luck with your (major) rebuild.

There's a lot of people posting in this thread talking a lot of b*ll*cks. Yes, Private Parking Companies can't issue 'fines'. However, they can issue 'penalties' for contravening the terms of parking or for trespass. They can, and often do, pursue these to court if you ignore them. My advice is never to ignore a private parking notice. Further advice is to visit a site such as "Pepipoo" ( FightBack Forums )where you will get some good information rather than that codswallop posted by some in this thread. Another titbit. Aldi will always ensure that a private parking notice is cancelled if you provide them with a copy of your shopping receipt, or credit card or bank statement. Trust me. I have had 4 tickets recently for (senior moments) inputting the wrong registration number into their system. This is who to contact for results : - [email protected] Definitely never ignore a parking charge.

Mr Tree Kangaroo, You seem to be very impatient. Four hours after your original post you post again saying "no ones interested". Give people a chance to read your offer. Also, your stated location is 'Lancashire'. That covers approximately 2,000 square miles. Try to be a little more precise. It all helps.

Kevin, you are too subtle for most. I'm just waiting for someone to say that they will drop the tree and cart away all the leavings for the price of a cup of coffee and two sticky buns. More correctly I hope to make clear to all those who have kindly PM'd me, that my daughter will pay a fair price to whoever will do a fair job. I know that the majority of arborists are probably honest and hard working guys and gals. It is unfortunate that Joe Public (in this instance my daughter) has stumbled across a couple of p1ss takers. I shall report back and hope to have some better photographs of the tree in bits on the ground or going through a shredder. However, I expect that will start a further discussion concerning the merits of whichever shredder is used.

Some of you guys are genuinely funny. Some are just p1ss takers. I know, and most of you will know, that a simple eucalyptus dismantle, isn't going to cost £1,100. I also know that you can't get a cherry picker anywhere near that tree. My request was for a genuine and honest member of this site to do a job for my daughter for an honest and realistic price. Thankfully, I have received many responses from Arbtalk members within striking distance of Bury. I will reply to them individually. And, yes, please excuse the sepia pictures. My son-in-law needs to update his photographic skills.

That is about as realistic as the guy who will do it from a cherry picker. It would take him a week to build it in the back garden.

My daughter would like some sensible person to dismantle a eucalyptus tree in her back garden. Idiots need not apply. She has asked two local "tree contractors". One said "no problem. £1,100". The other said "I'll have it down in no time with a cherry picker". Now, there is no access for a cherry picker. Its in her back garden. Access via an alley alongside the house. Reasonable size drop zone on lawn. Tree is approx 30' to 40'. Tea, coffee, sticky buns and toilet facilities available. Pm me if interested.

There is a reference to this carving on Pinterest. You need a login to see the detail. It was, apparently, carved from a dead Cedar by a sculptor, painter and poet named Rudy Rahme in Bcharre, Northern Lebanon. Clever piece of work.
