I just moved from Norfolk to Birmingham. There's a lot more work around this way then there is back there. Living costs aren't as much though, so I guess it kind of equals out. You'll be working for bugger all though unless you're top notch and self employed.

I make plugs and wooden jewellery in my spare time, I also have an Etsy shop. You won't get much exposure if you're only advertising over Etsy, I'd suggest a Facebook page, some swanky business cards and doing some local craft fairs.
