  1. done this and its burning well, the thermometer on the pipe is reading 200 celcius it is giving out heat but nothing like i expected. to me it seems like the heat is all above the stove and not coming out into the room, the stove is slightley inset - ill put a picture up
  2. it has always been like it, ive had it about 6 weeks now. even when its been burning for an hour plus and looks to be burning well it does not seem to heat the room, its 12' x 16'.
  3. there is a very bit of light brown on the edges of the glass but overall quite clean i would of said, but im no expert!
  4. ive had all the fire bricks out a few times and im sure its all in correct, the liner was new when the stove was fitted but it was never insulated with hermiculite, would that help??? there seems to be a good draught as i can hear the wind threw my stove. my radiators are run from the central hearting not my stove, thank goodness! thanks for the advise so far
  5. i have a 5kw aarrow sherbourne but have tried every setting for vents open and shut but it never seems to produce much heat. I have had some good seasond oak and now using ash, what size logs are recomended? at this rate i will need to have the radiator on in the room to when it gets cold!!
  6. has anyone owned or used one of these? its a early 90's ex MOD truck. i was looking to get a forestry trailer with crane but my tractor is only a ford 3910 so i would need to replace that also with a larger 4x4, thought this might be a better plan as it would travel at a sensible speed on the road.
  7. thanks treebloke, this is the form i completed and sent in on the 3/12/12, they have replied and said i need to apply for planning permission, i will have to speak to them again when they reopen in the new year. my land is not 12.5 acres maybe this was the problem? However if i can manage some local woodland then i should be able to get round this. Thanks for your help
  8. thanks for the reply, ive been looking into it a bit more and i think i will keep an eye out for a mobile sawmill rather than a chainsaw mill. These things seem to be very few and far between, cant seem to find much second hand at all...guess ill have to keep looking!

  10. im looking at the possibility of starting milling some timber next year. started looking ar chainsaw mills but seen some manual mills look much easier to use. and advise or experience people have had would be much apreciated and also if any one has got or know of any used mills in the sout east i may be interested?
  11. im guessing these trees are already sawn off or are they trees in bags and replantabe?

  17. got this processor from a farm sale, its a posch one but quite old and has seen some work. Surprisingley it worked fine!
  18. what sort of price are christmas trees wholesale? for say 100 4 to 5 foot trees out of interest
  19. I have a small woodland in surrey and looking to put a barn up to keep equipment ant timber dry. I have done a little research and it looks like I should be able to get this with 28 day notice permitted devolpment but my local council are saying that i can not. Has anyone had any experience with this?
