I am still looking for work, What i have is nptc cs30/31 own chainsaws felling tools ppe and my own transport. I am looking to get into forestry i have been using a chainsaw since i done my course in 1997 and been in woodland and logging ever since. I have had two years in a chestnut coppice and enjoyed every day of it so looking to stay working in woodlands and forestry. I am very hard working and a keen learner with a mechanical mind for fixing and repairing, I am a 35 year old and i am self motivated with experience using a chainsaw and i am willing to travel. I am looking for work using my chainsaws, I have nptc cs30/31 and have my own transport but restricted to distance i can travel. I am enthusiastic keen and hard working, i have my own saws, hand tools for felling and ppe. Can start straight away and willing to learn new ways of doing jobs. I have a home made hydraulic log splitter for sale that works of the back of a tractor and it is free standing as no link pins. It will split 24 inch log it is 72 inches long 36 inches high, i have used this myself and did not have any trouble with it even notted and twisty logs went through. I am selling as i have no work for it any more and it must go. I an open to sensible offers and buyer must collect (cash on collection only) It will fit in the back of a belingo size van. Thanks matty i have tried all the above and cab are working on a problem for me at the moment and job centre won't help unless i have been unemployed for 12 months as for the rest a friend is looking into them as they know the ins and outs of the grant systems. Thanks matty

How long ago was you here i have been here nearly 20 years and never seen a proper job second hand shop only a recycle place. And i might be the on that needs to apologise as to me this is a village but to others it's a town. Thanks for the comments

Rover i don't know where you got your info about chagford but it is well out of date there is no second hand shop here it is a small village not a town and i have a friend at proper job looking out for a good bike for me any way but thanks all the same. As for aiming higher i feel i am aiming high now with old tickets and old ppe i am still trying to get work and it is looking that the only one on this site that has given me the work be it odd weeks is samarb is he the only one that has the odd week of work for me or the only one with the heart to say what the hell i will give him a go for a week or two? Thank's but the giving up part is getting close as i feel that without a car licence no one want's to employ me so am at the junction of give up or hold on but with no money coming in it is hard to keep my chin that's why when i advertised for work i asked for accommodation as would help keep overheads down and i might be able to save some money but nothing there nether. thanks

I know there are lots of people out there that do it for free there are lots that get pay'd it might not be big money but it's money. And as for the ones that do it for free they probably have another job that pays i have not this is just a option i have. thanks

Hi all i have been thinking about changing my career as only one person has given me any work so far i know the work is there but without a car licence no one want's to give me the work. I was thinking about doing pest control (rats rabbits and feral pigeons) with air rifle and thought i would see if i can get more work with this as not much chainsaw work coming my way even with my experience. This is just a thought and an inquiry to see what's out there on the pest control side of things. If there is any work shooting rats rabbits or feral pigeons with air rifle as it seems that to use a chainsaw i need a car licence as well as my chainsaw tickets to get any work. It seems that if you can't drive a car no one want to employ you in my opinion you do not need a car licence to operate a chainsaw and i know that it helps but need the work to get the money to take the test (no work no test) it is a catch 22 for me and it is looking like there is no way out. So i shall see what comes of this as can only try and see what is out there. Thank you mike
