The reason for the reduction is because its getting too big for its space, its touching the garage on the left and back, it's also swamping a hawthorn tree on the right. I may be wrong but From the little knowledge I know about whitebeams is they need little or no pruning as they don't respond as well as others. With that in mind I wasn't going to take a great deal off it. Aslong as its a few feet off the garages, and being shaped up.

Reduction still going ahead. I guess as the girdled root is on the same side as the wound, then codet ain't working as quick as it should. Thanks guys.

Probably worth looking for rhizomorphs then? Well from a visual aspect it doesn't seem to be affecting the tree as the crown looks really vigorous & healthy.

This white beams having a reduction soon and I just noticed this on it. On one of the pics it had a girdled root, could it be this causing it or are there pathogens at work hear? Any ideas?

Looking for work on weekends doing any sort of tree work to get a bit of experience under my belt. Iv got chainsaw tickets 30,31, 38 & level 3 forestry & arbor btec, but not a great deal of field experience as I'm a landscape gardener. Have some sort of safe working system, where u phone or text a friend every couple of house or at lunch n end of day To make sure your ok. If he don't get the call he knows your in trouble. -

I dont no whether you got anyone for the job but I'm still really thinking about this job, is there any chance I could do any more contracted hours so I can pay my bills. I no you said 8am-4pm, but if you were up for doing 8am -5pm I could do it. I found this when cutting epicomic growth off a holm oak, any ideas what it is? there was another smaller bracket under that one but broke off. I thought it may be innotus hispidus?

Hi there my names Jonny and i'm looking for a job as a groundsman in the Norfolk area. I have got cs30 cs31. A level 3 btec in forestry and arboricuture. Next year I will be going on to do my cs38, with the intentions on doing cs39 when I can and when i have the funds. I have all my own PPE gear, and my own chainsaw. I have been doing landscape gardening for 3 years now, and have been wanting to get into tree surgery work for a while now. I have been doing the odd job for my boss, cutting down small trees, taking out laylandii hedges, and cross cutting fallen tree's etc. Not a much as I would like to do!
