They currently have awards worth hundreds of millions of pounds. The company is able to provide planning, design, construction, maintenance and operation of motorways and trunk roads.   3. Our client is a local authority in Bedfordshire. They have a busy tree section and are looking to employ another full time Tree Officer. The Tree Officer role is responsible for managing the council tree stock, this will involve taking tree related enquiries from the public, inspecting trees in line with council policy and where appropriate specifying remedial works and carrying out Tree Inspections.   4. Our client is the Tree Section of a central London borough. They are responsible for the management of the council's tree stock

     

    A Tree Officer (Planning) post is primarily responsible for processing TPO applications and Conservation Area notifications. They will also be responsible for investigating unauthorised works to trees and providing formal advice on planning applications.   5. Our client is a borough council based on the Berkshire/Surrey border. Located within the Thames basin it covers an attractive area which includes several affluent market towns. As such they have a significant and highly valued tree stock both on private property and council owned land.

     

    They require a temporary arboriculturalist to clear a back log of work and expect the role to last for a period of three to six months, working 2 to 3 days per week.   17. An opportunity for an arboricultural or landscape officer has arisen to cover a fixed term contract to March 2018 for a Council in Kent. This role is fundamental to supporting both the Landscape Management and Arboriculture elements of the Council's team along with working closely with highways operations . This is primarily an office based role but there is also a requirement to undertake some work in the field.

     

    This position would suit a candidate who is looking to gain technical experience in the public sector; candidates may be studying for a level 3 qualification or already have one. You may be an arborist who wants to give up climbing but still work within the industry in a non hands on role while considering under taking further training or qualifications, or a candidate with some knowledge and experience of working in landscaping.

     

    The main part of the role will require you to review new enquires and where possible resolve these at first point of contact which will involve follow up calls with members of the public. There is also a requirement for general administrative duties which will include managing email accounts, preparing meeting minutes, works ordering, managing incoming enquiries for first point resolution and providing procurement support for the team.

     

    As you may be required to undertake site visits from time to time you will need to hold a valid driving licence. Access to a vehicle will be provided. Site visits will involve contract monitoring of urban grass cutting contracts and tree works. There may also be a requirement for customer enquiries to be followed up with site inspections.

    Knowledge of iProcurement, Oracle, WAMS/ Confirm would be desirable but it is not essential as training can be provided. An interest in the soft landscape would also be beneficial.

     

    The successful candidate will be able to provide support to teams within the Ashford and Aylesford depots. The hours of work are 9am -5pm/ 7.5 hours per day to fall in line with the normal working hours of the rest of highways. However, hours and days of work are flexible and dependant on workload and the business need. The salary starts at approximately £10 per hour.

    Based out of Nottingham the role would involve;

  23. Our client is a medium sized arboricultural contractor based on the outskirts of west London. They have been trading since 2001 and have an established client base consisting of commercial and domestic clients, including several large social landlords as well as prestigious central London estates/squares. The work for the Housing Associations includes a complete tree management service; involving mapping and surveying the tree stock and then specifying remedial works as part of a cyclical programme undertaken over a number of years.     The role is a varied and interesting position involving a mix of management, technical and hands on functions:

     

    1. Management:

    Oversee two teams of staff; issuing and organising day to day work,

    Management of a fleet of four work vehicles and associated plant and machinery,

    Upkeep of an office and yard facility including disposal of green waste,

They also expect candidates to be IT literate since the use of computerised tree management and mapping software is part of the job.

    • Climbing and working from a rope and harness or MEWP being able to perform aerial rescue.
