1. Hi Steve. Any chance this could be a sticky on the firewood page? https://www.forestry.gov.uk/pdf/13-07-02_FCE_SEL_Market_update.pdf/%24FILE/13-07-02_FCE_SEL_Market_update.pdf The last page has a great table on wood species and their calorific values. The Calorific values of woods is a subject that come up time and time again on the Firewood forum.

    All the best

  2. Hi Steve. Is there away to stop seeing reactions from posts and members we have ignored? Sick to death of Matelot and and his racist views. I love the forum but think it would do better if there was no politics as it just creates devision IMO. Thanks

Hi Steve

Sorry to bother you but was not sure how Arbtrader works. I am trying to contact someone selling on there so clicked on leave message for seller and I presume a message is sent but not sure. Do I have to sign up to Arbtrader or is that just for those selling? They may just not be reading their messages but not sure.

Hi ROB

Me Again, just about to order one those sharpeners (having destroyed a chain in a rock in tree yesterday) and realised it is 12V. Would a car battery charger run it or is an old car battery the best way to run it as it will be mainly used in the workshop. I see from your last post I should have pulled my finger out and ordered last weekend.

  5.
Yes I see what you mean about how the proper sharpeners work but I was only thinking of one or two touch ups to the blades not a heavy regrind. I might give one a go as it is still handy for the chainsaw sharpening. If I do give it a go are there quite a lot of options for grinder tip diameters as I think this might need careful matching to get the cutting angle right?

Hi Rob

I saw your video of the chainsaw blade grinder in action. I was wondering if you have ever tried sharpening bandsaw blades with it. I realise it is not made for this purpose but my workshop bandsaws blades are 164" long and not cheap using disposable blades. I would probably have to build a jig to support the blade but it looks possible to me what are your thoughts on this?

Thanks
