  1. Hi guys just had a honnda hhh25 hedge trimmer brought in covered in oil just started it up on tickover smoking like mad but clears as soon as revved air filter covered in oil just cleaned that no difference it get's worse as it warms up i am thinking rings but getting 100 psi on compression test also checked crank case breather is clear which it is customer will not spend big money on it so don't want to dig to deep just wandered if you guys have come across this problem?
  2. i use it for banks of 4 carbs off bikes etc and other big jobs i do us cleaning for garages / other workshops but i do have a 6 ltr for small jobs it is not as good as the crest though.
  3. this is what i have it is a bigun 26 ltr
  4. i have the mityvac kit use it all the time no problems you just have to get a spark plug adapter to fit hose to echo make one have seen them on ebay for sale
  5. i will get a pic latter for you it was quite bent the needle went from one end of the scale to the other i had the engine off so went down to him with the engine to try it out he guided me on how to do it the crank was nearly straight so just tweaked it a bit moor and bank off it went no warning at all the crank looked like cast very grainy appearance not like steel i would say it was ductile iron which would account for the sudden break:thumbdown:
  6. just tried the straightener on a quantum engine and the crank snapped so will not be buying i would not want a crank to break on a mower with a blade on it
  7. I USE A UV DYE YOU CAN BUY ON EBAY JUST ADD TO THE OIL NEXT TIME YOU CLEAN DOWN THE ENGINE LOOK WITH A UV LIGHT AND YOU WILL SEE THE TRACK OF THE LEAK IT CAN BE DIFFICULT TO FIND THE LEAK IF IT'S ONLY SLIGHT THIS IS THE KIT UV Dye & UV Torch Kit Leak Detection Dye For Oil & Fuel Leaks RLD4 Ring | eBay
  8. just buy a ryobi combi sounds like it will out last a stihl 4mix:001_tt2: only kidding guys but i have a customer who has a ryobi and beats the stuffing out of it and still going strong even though a 1/2 crank engine he only uses stihl oil in it the green stuff
  9. so you think it is ok to straighten a bent crank shaft i had a fear of it braking and getting sued how would your insurance stand if a accident happened?
  10. i am talking about bent crank from hitting a stump or bar etc bottom end where the blade attached i have not had any problems with the machines i have unknowingly sold the set up i saw was a jig with a pressure bolt on the top of the crank a equalizer bolt under the crank to take the strain off the aluminum sump pan the thing is when he has straightened the crank there are no witness marks to show it was even done no one would even know ( i did'nt ) till he told me yesterday
  11. dropped in to a shop i visit sometimes as i buy second hand machines from them from time to time i saw the boss with a engine set up in a crankshaft straightener he told me he has been doing this for years with no problems then told me i have bought machines with straightened crankshafts:cursing: now i am worried what i may have sold:thumbdown: what are you guys views on crank straightening?
  12. echo sale them for there testers try echo dealer:thumbup:
