i agree i put 2 straps on my homemade one and it grips the trunk better than the grcs

i didnt i just rung lewmar who make the winches they said 1.3 tonne for the winch .the bolts that hold the winch to the back plate the braking straine is huge so dont worry about that its just the straps and there marked up

yeah i understand ive put a tonne on it droped a good load on it its been fine i have 2 10 tonne straps on it .it works best with both

yeah i understand what hes saying but i dont understand is that if i take my top strap off .the design would be the same as what you say is better. but no matter what it will still pull to the trunk no matter what if theres one or two straps the force from the rope is still there no matter what

sorry mate i dont understand you make up the number or where do i get a number from ? surely you dont just make one up ?

yeah i get what you mean i thought that to its just ive got 3 types of lowering bollards thats including GRCS so where did you get yours done ?

it work for you i might have to carry it a mile down railway track so makes it easier for me.

if i took the top ratchet off it would be ruffley the same .but with 2 straps ive got 2 lots of friction to the trunk ! i have put atleast a tonne on this winch a 2o ft 18inch across piece of ash and it did not shift i think its fine . and the grcs the ratchet design on the strap is crap unless its put on a large tree due to to many raps on the ratchet .you cant tighten it aswell as a normal ratchet strap thats why i changed the backplate
