  1. Maybe it's my age or I'm aiming too high but I want to attract a better class of bird. I have got my nuts out and have even tried with big fat balls but not even a nibble! I get plenty around showing their red breasts following me everywhere in the garden but I'm not satisfied. Can anyone recommend hedges or trees that may attract them to nest?
  2. THANKS Gardenkit all done and up and running ......at last
  3. Just one of those things if you have a decent motor your charging too much if you have a pile of crap your not professional you can't win. There will always be someone who can do it cheaper. Your costing is what it is regardless. And they would have probably ended up a pain in the arse!
  4. Difficult situation as you have a friend involved. I would keep it professional get a copy of paperwork from the castle. Do a letter explaining the extra work he wants you to carry out regarding the tree and get him to sign it (Say it's for insurance purposes) then as it's over £500 take it to small claims. You don't want to walk away but then again you don't want to lose out!
  5. Make sure whatever ...If any.... permission they have is in writing and make sure you confirm this with owner or it will defiantly hit the fan! Good luck!!
  6. I have had same problems and you HAVE to do everything in writing. As it was a recommendation I would just suffer it to be honest, Sometimes it's better to lose and learn if it all blows up it may damage your reputation.
  7. Hi Gardenkit cam checked and all moves freely. One thing I did notice on the flywheel there is an arrow and on the plastic cam wheel there are two arrows. On a rebuild are these meant to be in a particular position when you put push rods in and do valve clearance? Sorry for being a pain and thanks for the help.
  8. Hi thanks to both of you. I have fitted new piston and rings. I looked at the barrel and there are no marks at all that's why I can't understand it as it was running fine. Gardenkit is the decompression thing behind the cam wheel? Thanks for all your help
  9. Well I guess it's junk lol it done 60! so I take it the barrel is knackered as well? something else for the spares bin!! Thanks for your help
  10. OK Never done one before is there a certain reading it should be?
  11. Hi I haven't done a test on it It did seem the faster I tried to turn it over the closer it was to firing . I am thinking valve problem? (Shot in the dark) I have read another post where the valve clearance is essential? unless I have not done something right on rebuild. It seemed straight foreword just didn't want the expense of taking into shop
  12. Hi all. I have a stihl KM100 Combi motor. One of the valve retainers broke the valve dropped and bent and put a dent in top of piston. I replaced the obvious but now I can't get it to fire up. The coil is fine, carb is fine. I put some petrol down the head and it reluctantly fired up and stopped. Does anyone have any ideas? it seems like there is a fuel problem it's not the carb as swapped it for one I know is ok....Any help appreciated. Thanks
  13. The gears were that cheap.
  14. Hi pleasent awwww I wish mate..paid £69.00 for the three heads I knew they were knackered though. Yeah they are the 0-135 degree ones. Just been reading through the posts being a newbie. I cannot believe the amount of gear getting nicked!
  15. Hi all thanks for the replies. I have had stuff nicked in the past and tend not to buy new, Your'e right about the comparison of the gears and then time to fit and the cost for a new one. I have 2 hedge cutters and the scrub cutter (Ebay bargain of £66.00 for all three). I was quoted £188 for a set but may now just break for spares. I think the gears are way over the top price wise but that's the way it is I suppose. Rich2484 I haven't stripped them yet I know they are a pain in the arse so going to have a go Saturday.....Thanks everyone
  16. Hi all Anyone know where I can get pattern gears for the Stihl combi hedge cutter? Just contacted stihl dealer for price and I'm not prepared to sell my soul to buy them:001_tt2: Thanks
