Hello,
Does the new Husqvarna combo can non-spill fuel and oil spouts fit the echo CS 360TES ?
Thanks

£100 a cube here. Intentionally on the high side - customers say we're dryer than competition, and friendlier about helping unload. (handled out of pick up, and regularly do weekends.) And it's almost certainly a bit more than a cube. All our own wood and we don't go more than a few miles.
If we had a proper processor I might start selling softwood - just because thinning lengths are so much straighter - but just hardwoods for now on an upright splitter. I do burn a bit of pine and spruce myself. Noticeably less heat per log, and resin stickiness is another downside. It doesn't make sense for customers to want them, but if there's something at £100 a cube and something else at £70 a cube they'll go for the cheap one regardless.
In my experience softwood burns hotter than hardwood. There's also less ash left over. If you have plenty I'd burn softwood over hardwood.

Yes I have now got the harvester bar. It's expensive when you add in the fitting kit. Nice to have it all in one and not have the little spacer but the bar is not as hard waring as the Oregon and requires more dressing which is going to lead to it waring out more quickly. I only changed as my spacer had started to delaminate but in hindsight I think a new spacer would have been the better option. If nowt wrong with you current bar and spacer leave well alone IMO.
Thanks Woodworks , I was just wondering if I was missing out on something!
Cheers

Hello,
I've got a WP36 fitted with the standard chainsaw Oregon bar and wedge and I believe they later models now come with a harvester bar.
Has anyone tried both? Is it worth converting?
Thanks

Got one under construction. Looks like we will be redoing the talking but the visuals remain the same. Can't claim credit for making it though as that's being done by a friend.https://vimeo.com/156089896
Nice video which shows the process. One of the very few (that I've seen) that stack their logs for seasoning. Makes all the difference I think.

I've just removed all the guards so the handle can be reached from both sides, crazy...I know. For 2 way split I just raise the 4 way blade so the horizontal bade's clear. Very happy with it (WP36) though.

Just season them then sell for ~ £55/m3. Dumpy bags = 0.75m3.

Hi,
Looking for contact details for timber haulage (softwood) Alford Aberdeenshire. ideally 6 wheeler and drag due to access problems.
Thanks

Mine was less than £10 off ebay so I doubt its the best of instruments, but as said above you get a good idea by the feel, weight, sound and look of the wood and I'd say it's in line with that although reads high imo.

So am I right in saying that most if not all moisture meters measure "dry basis" and stove manufacturers recommend less than 20% "wet basis" (which is 25% on a dry basis moisture meter) ?
Thanks

Nothing wrong with larch as long as it's under 25% moisture content (wet basis). Burn tonnes of it a year in ours and customers burners.

Just wondered if the engine is letting it down a little?

I been using a WP36 on hire for a couple of weeks. Mostly with a three different operators and me a bit as well. I've a full day on it tomorrow.
Not an impressive machine really. Slow and underpowered. The clamp for holding the log is not good and the splitter struggles on 25cm spruce on a four way splitter. I'll be very glad when my new processor comes from Trak-met.
Jonathan
Is that a self propelled WP36 or PTO driven?
Thanks

Just use firefighters from home bargains and dry wood.

I would say that 1m3 of sand weighs more than 1m3 of 3" crushed rock. I've always though that you get more wood in a 1m3 box if the logs are smaller as they sit neater.
I cut majority of mine at 280mm, sold out of hard wood at 300mm. Most of my customers are using modern large door woodburners though.

I owned both and several of them. OE just less torque in cut and needs light hand and 325 chain. The NE loves 3/8 chain for bucking cuts.
The OE can be ported to run with NE that has been ported. If the porter knows what he is doing.
Also make sure you do the updates to the OE. Replace that plastic intake clamp before it warps and burns the saw up. = air leak. You can redneck the old partion and use 372 clamp or buy the updated kit. Have all the numbers on CSR posted already. If you need a copy paste here let me know.
Appreciate the info, I've registered for CSR but failed to find the info. Could you give me a link?
Thanks
