  1. I am sort of in the same boat mate, little older and wiser but looking to change career. I am starting my training at the end of this month, though from what I have learned in the past .... doing the tickets gets you started but its the tip of the iceberg, once you do the training you start to learn!
  2. I am only just about to begin my life working with trees but I dont understand that there is no specialist course for 1st aid in this line of work. I will be bringing with me 10 years experience of training to deal with injuries from explosions and gunshot being a soldier but I also have 1st aid at work and I dont think that would fully cover dealing with a saw cut.
  3. I have to say being a still serving soldier I have put my goretex through some sh1t and it has always done the job, even after being in the pouring wet up the side of a mountain for days on end. I have done 10 years and had 2 in that time. For what civies pay they are worth it when they are so durable! The newer ones are better as they have pockets where the old ones didnt.
  4. Hi everyone, I am like MSlack, just getting my training done before getting out of the forces. Really looking forward to getting my hands dirty and getting stuck in!

If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.
