  2. yeah, the power thingy spec on the 150 is less than the 192. I'd love more power, but the big beasts are just too heavy for me. My 211 is great since I bunged a light weight bar on it - as I'm weakling girl
  3. Don't know if anyone's posted this, but there is a new Stihl carver in their latest catalogue. MS 150 c-e. I guess it replaces the ms192c-e. Only 2.8 kg. costs a lot though .... (no I don't work for stihl, but I love looking at their stuff)
  4. Mapp gas. I've never used it, but I've watched other carvers use it. I tried with a normal blow torch but it was rubbish, kept blowing out.
  5. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004CPQBRA It is a real product!
  6. How important are humans anyway? So what if we die out? Refill the fridge with tinnies, love your friends and families and make the most of everyday. The human race, war lords and politicians will kill us off. Let's introduce bears and wolves into the uk to liven things up ...
  7. Cheers guys, I hate the kingfisher. I made one for a friend because they asked for one, then someone else asked for one, and now another aagggghhhhhh!
  8. ... cheers, well it was worth a thought. M

  10. Re my previous post, worried about upsetting the neighbours carving, can I bung my 8" canon carving bar/ sprocket/ 1/4chain, from my stihl ms192 on an electric saw? I've got a very old lecky BnD gk1635t saw, and a 2 year old lecky bosch which takes 40 cm bar. Cheers Miranda

  13. Just finished my 8th carving, a kingfisher for the nextdoor neighbour - I dreamt I got an asbo for the noise! The buzzard was made last easter at my mum's.
  14. I had that with a kingfisher's beak in oak. I bought some wood hardener from b&q and painted it all over the rotten bit (after finishing the piece) only time will tell if I've achieved anything. It worked wonders on some rotten window frames I was repairing year's ago.
