  1. Hello Rhino & Taupotreeman Been awhile! It'll 3 years 9 months experience tree work (related) by the time I go next Nov 2014. Extended qualifications will be gained next year at Treevolution. Now it's just Oz or NZ?
  2. Hi all, I'm in the process of potentially obtaining a Work Holiday Visa and is a Guernsey based NPTC qualified Arborist looking to work out in Australia for November 2014. I've been working on a self-employed basis since May 2013 and working sub-contractually for a local qualified Tree Consultant during that time period. I've been involved in the industry since February 2011. During that time period I've worked for 6 months in the West Midlands and did a 10 week Craftsman course at Otley College. I would be grateful in gaining any advice on what potential employers in Australia would expect of me and if I would need to obtain a OH&S card online before I get over there. I have relevant qualifications: CS 30, CS31, CS38, CS39, PA1, PA6, Class C drivers license. I'm looking to gain certain qualifications in (2014): CS 41, Woodchipper, MEWP, First Aid renewal Any help would be great, All the best, Luke

  7.

<p>Sorry Rob forgot to mention will I need to buy a replacement sprocket. The saw I'm using is a Echo CS 270 WES.</p>

    <p> </p>

    <p>Thanks again.</p>

  8. Hi Rover, will I need a different sprocket for the Echo 270 WES?
  9. Hi dervishcarving, Thanks for message, I've just sent RobD a PM. Yesterday I had an impulsive buy for a Echo CS 270 WES! Was slightly cheaper than the Stihl MS 211 but not gonna operate it until I've had more advice (it can go back on the return). Anyways just looking forward to running the saw in and get busy with the mushrooms! All the PPE is there from tree climbing, well padded up like the Michelin man!
  10.

<p>Hi Rob, dervishcarving recommended I speak to you and if you could give a price on Cannon 12" Quarter tip chainsaw bar and 3/8" pitch chain for 12" Quarter tip please?</p>

    <p> </p>

<p>I live in Guernsey, Channel Islands. If you could give me a price on the postage also, and if VAT is applicable, I would be most grateful.</p>

  11. Could anyone recommend a reasonably priced bio-chain oil and engine oil for a Echo CS 270 WES please? Thank very much, crotch_hopper
  12. Could anyone give me some insight into whether any of these saws would be any good for a newbie into chainsaw carving please? The prices are as follows: Stihl MS 181 - £238.26p Stihl MS 211 - £304.96p Stihl MS 201 - £623.28p All saws at that price include Bar/Chain and will have 15% taken off the initial price. The reason being a Stihl is because there is a highly recommended supplier here in Guernsey, Channel Islands. I've been in contact with Ed Robinson of Northampton and Ed has been really helpful with information regarding what I would need to start up with. He recommended to begin with: Cannon 12" Quarter tip at £65.00 and 1/4" pitch for 12" Quarter tip at £20.50 Thanks for any help available, crotch_hopper
  13. treerex, silky fox Would you have any advice on what type of climber they would be looking for in Sweden? Years of experience, qualifications, age range or nationality?
  14. silky fox, would it have to do anything with the local talent?!
  15. Cheers Isaac Rob will look into the mentioned companies!
  16. Hi IsaacRob, Tree climbing rope/harness/chainsaw primarily but anything else would be cool. Preferably around Hackney or nearby. Ta very much
  17. Ok thanks treerex. Much appreciated!
  18. Yes I have. I'm trying to broaden my perspectives on the opportunity front. I think I might try to send off hundreds of CVs to UK/Swedish (all about the opportunities there!) companies to add a greater perspective. Cheers for advice reply
  19. Does anyone know of any jobs available in either of the two cities? Or is it quiet season?! Credentials can come with responses!!
  20. Cheers evryone for the advice. I'll post tomorrow the outcome of the nightmare!
  21. Hi wonder if anyone can shed some light into a situation I've got myself into. The problem is I used a piston stop to take off the clutch assembley and snapped the one end off andit broke into the engine itself but managed to retrieve the large section of it and gave it a rattle to see if any more fragments were left inside. It seems like there was a faint ting going on in there. Next step I tried to start the brute up and nothing. Just would like to know if it's advisable to take out the engine and check to see if any piston damage is going on in there. Would anyone have any hints on removing the engine as well? Please please I love this saw!!
  22. Does anyone have any ideas to sneaky big oak tree climbing around (or within 30miles) of Shrewsbury without the prospect of a National Trust official or wierwolf having a go?
