It was great to see so many of you last week at the Arb Show, we had a great time and we hope that those of you who made it enjoyed it too. What came to our attention at the show was that there is a certain amount of confusion over two companies with the name Bartlett. We just wanted to dispel any myths once and for all! If you haven't already seen this in the news and you have one of these machines then this may just be worth a read; Recent accident investigations indicate that some firewood processing machines may be unsafe because the guards provided are too short or the other safety devices provided may be easily overcome. In recent months the HSE has investigated a number of serious accidents involving hands, including finger amputations, on some models of firewood processing machines. Initial conclusions suggest that these machines are not safe and are not fully compliant with the Machinery Directive (as implemented in the UK by the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008).
