  1. Thanks for the feedback everybody, OH has now squashed pics (ta Gee) so all pages should load super quick. Nothing He could do about fonts though as they are preset for certain things. Kim
  2. A recent bench I carved for a poultry farming couples anniversary. The wood is Oak and its completely chainsaw (with the help of an Alaskan Saw Mill and 4 screws). Kim
  3. Thank you very much everybody, exactly what I/we ;-) were wanting. Will set about trying to rectify the issues raised. Kim
  4. oops forgot to say just click on the link under my name. Kim
  5. Hi Everyone Just rejigged my website (well Other Half has :-)) and wondered if you could have a look and give me any constructive feedback (bound to be sommat he's missed!). Thanks in advance Kim
  6. Carved this at Wild About Wood Festival out of a piece of Oak. As usual its 100% chainsaw and the last pic is of it in its new home near Hull. Kim
  7. Top stuff Si, knew it was gonna be a be a belter from the designs :-) (thanks for the name check :-)) Kim
  8. Ha ha know that feeling :-) I think the kingfisher is spot on form wise and stylistially and people are right to keep ordering them and ordering them and....... ;-) Kim
  9. Thanks everybody :-) Hi Splinters, thanks :-),although I love doing the commissions (they're still my own designs at the end of the day) I do sometimes feel a little bit restricted by them especially once the challenge of doing something for the first time has gone (that's why I leave the owls to the hubby :-) and luckily I get asked for lots of different things). It's just finding time do something that's not been paid for, glad I did in this case and I'm going to do so more over the next few months. That'd be great to see pics of Dervish when you're done :-) Really TCD? I feel honoured :-) Kim
  10. In between doing commissions I love to give free reign to more purely art driven carvings. Heres one I finished recently, I wanted to use the saw as a pencil to "sketch" out the woman if that makes sense. Think the final piece captures the vulnerability that I wanted to give it. The wood is Sycamore and as always its 100% chainsaw. Kim
  11. Ace :-) Kim
  12. Really cool work, the buzzard has a very Egyptian feel to it :-) Kim
  13. Thanks Gee :-) Not used a Zebra but the Oregon and Cannon are similar weight wise (too long since I had a Stihl to remember). The Oregon feels a bit springier when carving if that makes sense! Kim
  14. :-) The reliability is as good as if not better than the two big brands and this is speaking from the experience of having had them all, I still can't believe how good they are for the money (by the way I'm not sponsored by Echo or anything, just my honest opinion) Bar wise I use Cannons, found the Stihls not to last very long. I'm just experimenting with an Oregon one (off Rob.D) and so far so good although annoyingly they use a different no. of drivelinks to the Cannon and Stihl ones which is nice! Kim
  15. cool :-) Kim
  16. Hi Geesaw and welcome :-) The little echo cs270wes (think its 280 now) is brilliant, knocks both stihl and husqvarna into a cocked hat for the price (in my opinion). The parts back up is ok and it comes with a 2 year professional warranty. Why buy second hand when you can get a new machine for the same money. I carve for a living and am saw deep in wood nearly everyday so my detail saws get plenty of use so I feel fairly well qualified to say they are ace :-) Less than 40cc for a caving bar I seem to recall having read somewhere. Kim
  17. Cool :-) Kim
  18. Thanks everybody:-) It took around 30 hours Matty Kim
  19. Finally got on to a commission that wasn't dog related (I enjoy doing them but 5 in a row is a bit much). This was a lovely bit of Oak (ridiculously hard and difficult to carve as it turned out) with some root plate still attached that I carved into this bench. Kim
  20. Thank you Its a chainsaw finish followed by Teak Oil Kim
  21. Thanks Silky :-)
  22. Beautiful work, good forms and stunning wood Kim
  23. Better late..... thanks Dervish Kim
  24. Can't seem to figure out how to delete this here thread, anybody help? clicked submit instead of preview before the pics had attached :-) Kim
