  1. Thanks Paul, good advice. I did put on the add that I will help when needed but I see what your saying about working with the new owner. Glad you like the photography work we are doing. I am going to do a photo/video shoot of us up some trees soon, we did an aerial shot of an oak tree being feld the other day, looked great.
  2. Thanks TY looks like I'll be putting some equipment on leboncoin. The new business is property marketing, so if someone is selling or renting there house or want to showcase there gite then we can do this for them. We are offering aerial photography & videography as well as all the usual ground photos and videos. I did 2 year A level photography when we lived in England so I love anything to do with photography. Last week was our first payed week and 7 weeks ago this was just an idea in my head. Check out the new website we have done, its 90% done Home - dragonfly media let me know what you think. BTW T33eco damn it you found me out :-)
  3. Thanks for the advice everyone, I think what I will do is break the company up. So I will sell the van and equipment separately and if I can sell the name and the work we have booked in for a small price I'll do that. It does not bother me that its not sold as I thought its a tall order to sell this kind of business here in France its just a shame because we must have close on €10k worth of work for September booked in and my new business is ready to take off so I need to be looking after that as well. Thanks again for the help. Mark
  4. Hi all, This is not me trying to get more people looking at the business I have for sale this is a genuine question. We are selling up our tree surgery business in France, we have placed an add in the classifieds section of arbtalk but was just wondering if there is any where else I could advertise it in England that other tree surgeons would be looking. Has anyone had any experience in sell in a business like this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mark
  5. Hi everyone, I planted these trees in Nov last year and nearly 50% of them are dying is this white fly the problem? Thanks http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=129088&stc=1&d=1373487636http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=129089http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=129090&stc=1&d=1373487636&stc=1&d=1373487636
  6. Hello David, there are no other Plane tree in the immediate area, in fact I don't think there are any more on the estate. it is sat next to a horse-chestnut. Just Googled what Plane Anthracnose is and it looks like this tree has these symptoms. is there anything I can do, feed the roots? Thanks
  7. Thanks everyone, I don't think its lack of water as we have had more than our fair share this spring. I was wondering if its the start of the same problem with the plane trees along the Canal du Midi? It looks like its really struggling, its only got half the leafs it should have and a lot are curling up and dropping off. Cutting it down is a last resort, so feeding it with nitrogen is a good idea, how do I do that? Cheers
  8. I live in S/W France and I have a very worried customer, the 150 year old plane tree in the garden is not looking too good, is it doomed? does it have the the deadly fungus, Ceratocystis platani? Thanks for any Help. Mark

  10. I know I've joined in on this thread but I feel sick now at the thought of you guys eating your crusty boogers on your way home. Whats wrong with waiting till you get home and feed them to your kids
  11. NO NO NO your all doing it wrong, In France we save all our "snot rockets" thanks Paul, and cook them in a garlic sauce then place them in a snail shell and sell them the the locals as Escargot, mmm yum yum
  12. Hi Shane, For what its worth I bought a HB20 from Dean last year and the whole deal was good. The customer service is brilliant and more importantly the grinder does everything I need it to do, and everything Dean said it would. Have a go before you buy I don't think you will find anything wrong with the HB20. We even use it sometimes to do stumps that a bigger machine should be doing but it eats it all up. It is a workout on a slope but all hand held machines are and I have never even nearly tipped mine. If mine got nicked tomorrow i would get another HB20, cheers.
  13. I bought a grinder of Dean at Global last year and thought they were the best company I have dealt with so far. We buy all our equipment from England and feel the service we received from Global was great. If you ever get chance to go to there factory go, its great
  14. Who needs a stump grinder when you have a dog like mine? Her name is snoop, well named. http://i.arbextras.co.uk/s/attach/jpg.gif
