1. Does anybody have an AirSpade in the Greater Manchester area and would like to do some trial pits ?? DM me if interested
  2. Sorry should have stated we are looking at this with our consultants specs on. We have identified site constraints with regard to fauna and flora and will recommend our thoughts on trees. I wouldn't recommend flattening the site due to adverse reaction from locals etc. Plus if the LA get wind of it, it is only likely to annoy them and we haven't worked hard to build up our reputation to have it tarred by something like this! If this is recommended it kind of makes a laughing stock of BS5837, one of our main guidance documents!
  3. We have a few brownfield sites for a client where they want to clear the sites. Removing any trees and vegetation! There are no TPO's and they are not within a conservation area, is there anything to stop them doing this ! It just doesn't seem right ! Your thoughts will be much appreciated.
  4.
I live in Southport - around 50 minutes from Manchester city centre, and I'm more than happy to travel. Thanks

  6.
Hi, I am just messaging in relation to the summer opportunity you have available.I am new to the industry, with all current chainsaw/climber qualifications. I gained experience in the industry whilst out in Australia earlier this year/late last year and I am currently looking into studying Arboriculture as soon as possible. The opportunity of summer experience and to carry on whilst studying would be fantastic - so if you have any further information to send, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Shane Keeling. (Email - [email protected] )

  7. Wow, some responses on here! The tree really doesn't look to bad from the pics. If our surveyors recommended to clients to fell all sycamore trees with a union like that we would bankrupt huge amounts of companies. Have a local consultant inspect the tree, a consultant will give an unbiased view of the tree. I would love to here the results of a consultants recommendation if you get one, it shouldn't cost to much if you use a local one.
  8. We have an opportunity to join us over the summer months. We are ideally looking for a university student to work over the summer months with potential to carry on whilst completing there studies. This is an ideal opportunity for a Myerscough College student studying arboriculture. The work is based in the Manchester & Lancashire region. Contact me for more details

    Tree tagging

We have been asked to tag 4600 trees, we have tried to advise against this but they are adamant they want it doing. My question is what is the best system for tagging trees, we need it to be fast. I was looking at these magazine and hammer combinations ! Does anybody use these ? Cheers
