  1. Yes of course it's a no go. 1 would HAVE to be working for the other, OR 1 would have to cancel their insurance. Try taking out 2 insurance policies on the same car and see how far you get when you come to claim... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Yeah OTT...
  3. lol twt
  4. And the winner is... Many thanks Miker. The system works!
  5. Probably not as Stihl intended, but love it. Will give it a go!
  6. Is it? Part no?
  7. Exactly. YOU could have caused a very serious accident. You should be thankful your bar and chain are the only casualties.
  8. Quick fill spout doesn't fit, properly, plus there are potentially 2, so that theory's out.
  9. So, does ANYONE know what the holder between the 2 reservoirs opposite the holder for file/wrench/driver is for? The moulding is quite specific, have tried all sorts, including quick fill spouts, but nothing quite lines up right. So, what's it for???
  10. Nah, not buying it. The crown and the ground I can believe, but the trunk is added, sharpie?
  11. And I quote... "i would look at a small saw with dual dogs and think [expletive deleted]"
  12. Trying to get my post count up so I'm aloud to be rude to people!
  13. I treat people I don't know how they treat me. TB was rude, I was rude back. Understand? Or still confused?
  14. Probably for a lot, or even most people. I use the existing dogs as a pivoting point to swing the bar up and over, I'd just like to see for myself if they help on the way back over the trunk.
  15. So how many posts until I can make comments other people may not like? I doubt I'll ever manage to write enough posts, I have more important things to do than sit on here every night answering questions no one asked, and mocking people for trying something different, because you see, I have a life...
  16. Hi Logan, not yet. Took the sprocket cover to my local dealer, but the only teeth he had in stock didn't fit, well, the holes didn't quite line up. Checked the hole spacing against a 441 cover on my way out, lined up perfectly so will probably order that set. I'll let you know how my snedding experiment goes.
  17. Rubbish, you don't know what you're talking about. Are you a simpleton?
  18. No, it's just the crank case with the 4 nylon chain guides. Is that good or bad?
  19. The banter in the tread was clear, as were the Snide comments...
  20. Perhaps I'm doing a little leg pulling of my own? Not saying I'm going to revolutionise forestry, just want to try something for myself and wanted to know how to acquire a part, I didn't ask for feedback on my choice of saw. But hey ho, some people can't help themselves...
  21. I couldn't agree more, and having recently done CS30/31 can also agree CS30 was very useful.
  22. Tommer tommer tommer... My saw is neither blunt nor tiny. I know you're only a tree surgeon, and clearly know very little about forestry, but FYI the size of a saw is only relative to the size of the trees you are felling. A 240 pulls a chain around a 15" bar adequately, so using technical felling cuts that aren't commonly used in tree surgery, (this is where you would probably reach for the 660/880 etc) I can fell anything up to 32". Sure, a larger saw would knock it over a little faster, but when you're spending a lot more time snedding than felling, you soon start to appreciate a lighter saw with a shorter bar.
  23. Many thanks for the useful info from at least half of you, should be able to try snedding with dual spikes shortly. I'm still confused as to why some people feel compelled to answer a question with another question?
  24. That's cool, can I make the 240 side adjustable?
  25. On the sprocket cover of my 240 there are 2 holes at the front I can only presume are for a second set of spikes as are standard on the larger saws. I think they would be helpful when snedding and want to add them. Trouble is the spacing of the holes is different to the 1st set. So, what do I buy? Thanks in advance to spudulike and Megatron! (and anyone else with ideas of course!)
