1. Hi everyone Just received a commission for three life sized male figures. I have no suitable timber in stock and am trying to source some within travelling distance of Newport South Wales. Would prefer Cedar, Sequoia, macrocarpa or similar but would consider anything approx 2 metre long 800mm diameter. Will buy up to three tons if price is ok. Does anyone have suitable timber or know of anyone I can contact. Cheers...
 2. Hi All I know its a bit late for this but does anyone know of a carver who would be available to do a demonstration at a Community Woodland Open Day in Cwmbran South Wales on September 6TH. Simon O'Rourke did it last year and was very well received but he and everyone else that I know of are busy this year.
 3. Realise we won't get much of a machine for that money. We are a charity owned, 120 acre, community woodland in Cwmbran in South Wales trying our best to deal with an outbreak of Phytophera which has necessitated felling of about 25% of the woodland and has left a massive clearing up task. If any of you know of anything that you feel may fit the bill can you please advise
 4. Thanks everyone. Gues I'll be looking for something else. Got just over £10k to spend preferably for a tracked machine There doesn't seem to be many around at the moment any suggestions as where to start looking.
 5. Hi everyone looking for first chipper. Has anyone got any experience of Landforce 200 chipper? Good? Bad? or just ugly?
 6. I'm looking for a reliable Tracked chipper for relatively light usage, I have about £11k to spend including the VAT. Is it wish full thinking or are used machines out there for that sort of money. If it is possible what is the best way of finding one?
 7. Maybe a bit late but We have 36" Alaskan single head, 50 " Alaskan double head and Norwood Lumbermate pro mobile bandsaw mill. Social Enterprise based in Cwmbran, Also have mobile firewood processor if you need any help with the firewood side. Willing to deal for share of product.
 8. Bought 550xp in July and love it But two weeks ago the long threaded part of the chain adjuster snapped for no apparent reason. Contacted the supplier who checked with manufacturer and said it wasn't covered by warranty and are charging nearly £30 for replacement. It begs the question what does a warranty cover?

The amount we can do in a day depends a lot on how organised you are in getting timber to the machine and product away from it.

with every thing well set up and with a good diameter going through and using the six way splitter we can fill a cu metre bag every 5 - 10 mins or so.

Usually get about 2.5 cu metres from each ton of material so even at the ten min cycle each ton takes about half an hour.

Allow a little down time for changing chains and the occasional tea break.

We charge £225 per day for man and machine plus fuel cost for the machine and travelling costs at £1 mile one way. we are happy to stay over night on site in order to keep travel costs down if the job is big enough.

give me a call on 07787525875

 10. We bought a Wallenstein petrol driven road towable about two years ago and can't fault it. Horizontal or vertical regularly use it to break up 24" diam 12" hardwood rounds or 15" diam with fourway. Superb quality. We tend to take the splitter to the tree and cart away the firewood rather than bring the tree to the splitter.
 11. Depends on what it is. Nice straight lengths of softwood or arb hardwoods all twisty and short lengths . PM with details and we can talk.
 12. Just seen your post we are in Cwmbran with a brand new processor looking for work. Wouldn't hire it out on its own but would do processor and operator for £200 per day.
 13. Day's trial is great by me are you looking for milling or processing?
 14. Providing we can build in a little to cover the travel costs and time... what do you have in Mind ?
 15. Hi We are in Cwmbran South Wales (About 15 miles east of Cardiff)
 16. Hi all We have recently splashed out on a Norwood Lumbermate pro and a WP36 firewood processor from Riko. We will be using them in our own woodland to create added value products. However they are capable of far more output than we currently have markets for. Both machines are road towable and the intention is to offer a mobile service in the South Wales area. We feel that the ability to maximise the saleable product by offering both milling and firewood processing services to local woodland owners will help find potential customers. One of the problems we have is coming up with the most cost effective method of advertising the services. Any of you got any suggestions?

 24. Forgot to say his opening asking price is £1k for the whole package.
 25. Just checked both bars are woodsman pro and are 5Ft. Does anyone know of a UK supplier of these bars. If I wanted to use just one of the powerheads on soft wood would the cannon helper handle fit???
