  1. the forestry commission provide grants towards preparation of a woodland management plan, i am not sure if your advisor made you aware of this??! the woodland would need to be registered on the Rural Land Register in the first instance. Min. payment is £1000. this document could also provide 10 years felling consent and open up opportunities for further grants under EWGS such as Woodland Improvement Grant. Depending on your location either a 50% or 80% contribution could be available via this scheme and would contribute to operations such as ride/open space management, management of non natives eg sycamore depending on extents of colonisation. i hope this is of help...
  2. okay. how about allen rowlands - haulier buys firewood r/side based just north of bristol i think.
  3. Hi Have you tried Mendip Forestry. they buy timber all over the country - firewood etc i am sure they might be able to help you with a 100 t from down that way. based frome.
  4. heras fence panels work very effectively. ok slightly more expensive at the outset, 14-17 pound per panel - 3m wide 2 m height but after two years they can be easily relocated and used again and again. a great form of protection for coppice systems.
  5. i would try farm forestry co in Shropshire they supply heavier duty plastic mesh for deer fencing - 1.8m height. just used it for a job and very pleased.
