  1. I think what makes a good groundie is someone who can put himself in the position of what the climber is thinking. Ie making sure ropes are clear, organising brash, being able to send a pre warmed saw up I think is vital, amount of times I've had a cold ms660 brought up to me I've been livid.

Also I think it's how a groundie is treated. My brother grounds for me and works his balls off. Don't know many people like him. Without them we would just be monkeys in a tree so what I'm trying to say is also make sure you work with people who can respect you not just boss you around.

  2. Sorry guys location is stroud gloucestershire.

We usually crane with brash but we are very tight on space and the customers garden is cleaner than my front room so it's a slowly slowly catch a monkey job.

Also means we can clean and sned as we rig down and keep access clear as it's run as a B and B so needs access the first few days

  3. Hi folks, we have a large wellingtonia being dismantled tomorrow.

Starting with the branches then crane coming in Wednesday to dismantle the pole. I will try and up load some pics.

Is there anybody out there that might be interested in the timber

Tree was struck by lighting sometime ago so not sure what the timber will be like inside.

In the process of sorting new go pro out so should have some pics and videos to follow

  4. Hi just a post to say that my mate had the Valtra last and part exes it into Wilsons for the yellow 6550 with a roof mount. He looked after it we'll maintaining it every day. In good useable condition and in fact I often drove it and it went well. He says it's rubbish that it was on its last legs and he only changed as he was putting too many hours on it through his forestry business where it was getting used every day for winching, driving a horizontal splitter and forwarding in the woods. He's an owner operator so didn't take any risks with it as he needed it the next day! He bought it off Aspen. Had good solid wheels and a valtra tombstone weight on the front. A few oil leaks but which tractor doesn't? I can pm his number to you if you want to ask him about it directly?

  5. Just wondering if anybody has any feed back on tree hog chainsaw boots and how they are getting on with them.

Just had to send mine back after only 2 months. And I only wear them for 3 days a week max. All the stitching has come away from the heal so I can now put 4 fingers in the space and feel my foot.

Just wondered if any body else has had similar experience
