  1. Sorry Guys, My O90av sold as soon as it was posted. It is a brilliant saw, never been beaten by even the largest Elms, Oaks , or Beech, and on rare occasions i have used it as a giant 'climbing' saw in the biggest specimans i have dismantled. Very sorry to see it go but i'm retiring and selling nearly all my kit.
  2. When i first started in '62 i was expected to free climb to top of trunk of say 90feet oak or elm, haul up a 19mm Matador winch rope and tie it on. On my way down, hanging on to the the winch rope for support, would take the bow saw from around my neck and saw 3/4 through all the branches and finish off with the small razor sharp axe that was tucked in my leather belt, so that we ended up at ground level using a large 9lb Ewell felling axe for the sink and a 12ft two man cross cut for the back cut, with the Mat doing the final pull over. I have sold the Matador, but i still have my axes. Ahh the 'good old days'
  3. be very careful, if there is wear on the bearings and you start it up to working revolutions, if the flywheel goes out of balance or the bearing breaks up, you will witness enormous damage to the machine..... that's if you survive the explosion of kinetic energy. If you are not sure get it checked out by a suitable engineer etc. The only reason i know is that it happened to a chipper i had that was having its disc blades changed and the guy doing it revved it up to check it, it made a noise that cost 3k to put right ! i was stood about 25mt away at the time with Jeremy Clarkson telling him how impressed he would be with the performance after new blades so that we could finish his work on time good luck, i hope you get it sorted Mike
