  1. No, I don't approve of selling unseasoned softwood.
  2. Dunno what he is charging, but his wood and kindling is crap. I am pretty sure that none of it is going through the tax man, so once we are out of there I might give them a tinkle he he.
  3. We are based on a farm that we share with a tree surgeon/gardener and stables. Since we set up down there the gardener has tried to order wood cords from our supplier (who refused) and then got them from elsewhere. He has basically copied everything we are doing and is supplying wet unseasoned softwood to his clients. Personally I would punch his lights out , but the other half has got to work down there until we can find an other farm. What would you do?
  4. £2.75 for 65 x 45 net softwood and £2.25 kindling. £3-£4 for hard.
  5. Living nr Birmingham a fitter told me all stoves must be DEFRA and HETAS fitted or you can be issued with a 28 day notice to stop burning without the right certs. Anyone else heard of this?
  6. Yup, can't beat softwood it's what I prefer, tho the odd bit of hardwood thrown on too is fine.
  7. Does anyone know of anyone that can supply cords of wood to the Midlands?
  8. Here in South Birmingham one of the local tree surgeons is doing cubes for £25-30 mixed wood, basically because he gets it free. Business wood suppliers charge about £50 for a cube.
