  6. I had a feeling this would happen....lol. Its because its what i have to be honest. Also, i have a regular supply of free, once used teeth and i sharpen them self. They might not be the best but they seem to the most economical to replace when Mrs Johnson-smith's granma has lent a cast iron gutter against the Oak tree 45 years ago... So i feel its the best option for me.
  7. Ive just ordered a new set of pockets for the Carlton 4012. Ive attached some photos of the old ones. I just want to know what you lot think of the state of them? I think they are pretty well done? Ive heard that some people just renew the front ones as these are the most exposed - this makes sense? Some are really hard to get out too. Is this an inherent design fault or is it because the pockets are worn? I am staying with stick teeth too, so please dont divert off onto off brands of teeth and pockets etc. Just want a bit of feedback from more experienced users than I...
  8. ive got a drum of 110m of 13mm...? 150 quid.
  9. jack it up, take the valve out and stick a hose pipe on it on with suitable reducer that allows the air out as it fills. takes time though
  10. trouble is with 300 plus per day is the timber/product has to cover that...ok if your moving it from a field to another field but this is seldome the case and you find yourself in tight, awkward, time consuming places. You need to ecconomically viable for the bloke using you. 35 pound an hour max! The machine is better working than not.
  11. whats your budget? cheers
  12. The value added is certainly in Arb. The problem is with Forestry is that it is becoming more mechanised witch pushes product value down. Arb is still relativley un mechanised and the given client has little understanding into the work involved (which obviously relatesto price) - unlike the monopolisng saw mills for example. Also i'd certainly not even dream of using a turfor for forestry ops. A three point winch will double the time involed in getting timber extracted. If it were me- id be saying to the client of this site that you want a day rate of say 150 per day and the client gets the timber value miums say 10% if you sell it for him. 'Pricing' windblown sites gives way for hurried works, which has potential for disaster. Money just aint worth a broken leg, or worse! Take you time and be safe. If your client doesn't understand that then i tell 'em to stick it in thier bum hole! Good luck.
  13. Bang on!
  14. Give us some more details ole boy! Big diameter hung up windblown on a slope is about the worst. Sparse, small, flat windblow trees are straight forward even for a gibbon! So price's should reflect this...
