2.
heeey! if they let me in ill come this year. spring?

3.
Brother from another mother! When you coming to visit the Small Pear man?

4. you are still all looking at waste regulations. woodchip is not waste nor are logs. if your arisings are primarily leaf matter, ie you are a professional hedge cutter, not a tree surgeon then it is classed as green waste........ the usual bamboozling of the masses into paying for licenses etc they dont need! spend away.
5. wood chip is not waste guys! check the EAs own position statement on the environmental regulation of wood at http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk chip is virgin wood, be it from the smallest branches or biggest stems. only if your material is PRIMARILY foliage is it outside of the virgin wood bracket.

more likely a wood wasp? bigger than hornets but harmless enough.....
7. There is still no need to register for waste carrier etc unless you are carrying loads of pure hedge clippings or similar "greenwaste" material. wood chip from brash/ whole trees is specified as virgin as stated in my previous post, which is the EA's own guidance.
8. http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/static/documents/Research/PS_005_Regulation_of_wood_v3.0.pdf I think this link may get you to the EA document.
9. virgin timber is timber from: whole trees and the woody parts of trees including branches and bark derived from forestry works, woodland management, tree surgery and other similar operations (it does not include clippings or trimmings that consist primarily of foliage) virgin timbers are not a waste and are not subject to waste regulatory controls provided they are certain to be used for purposes to which virgin wood is commonly put. That is directly quoted from the EA position statement on the environmental regulation of wood. I recommend finding a copy and keeping it in your van to show anyone who wishes to bamboozle you into paying for waste licenses!
10. as gibbon said. this is direct quote from the EA. find their "position statement" upto date confirmation that arb chippings are not waste. there fore waste licensing does not apply.
11. For bio mass it depends where you are, (what you get for it depends mostly on transport cost) space available for stock piling, and ability to load the chip (good size loader)
12. directly quoted from the EA: virgin timber is timber from: whole trees and the woody part of trees including branches and bark derived from forestry works, woodland management, tree surgery and other similar operations (it does not include clippings or trimmings that consist primarily of foliage) "virgin timbers are not waste and are not subject to waste regulatory controls provided thay are certain to be used for purposes to which virgin wood is commonly put." wood chip is virgin material. not waste, no waste licenses apply unless you are only producing leaf and needle from your miniature chipper.....
13. have to agree on the Gelert bags, they are top notch, heavy duty. The one I have does incorporate two shoulder straps, so it works as a "rucksack", not just a one shoulder crippler!
