Mini Fleet policies (normally requiring 3-4  vehicles minimum) work off of claims experience.

Which is really annoying as you have to get it from your current broker, who invariably drag their heals to limit you getting other quotes.

Just been stung today, 2 weeks into our new policy, sold our transit tipper worth 5k and replaced with a brand new canter - had to pay an extra £1,100 to do so 😢

Its gone up a boat load this year.

Apparently its becuase the insurance underwriters paid out 108% of the premium income in claims last year. Where as normally the net figure is 90-92%

Shit isn't it. Heard a few folk say due to electric vehicle fires etc but not sure how much weight that argument has....

I questioned vehicle value.... master tipper at 16k I think and a ranger, over valued at 5500.... 10k difference in value. Same premium

It’s possible to bugger any machine with a lack of mechanical sympathy, I don’t think blocking a chipper can be a mark against the machine or make. It’s more the operator and the maintenance (yes I’ve blocked a few of different colours in my time and admit that almost every time it was caused by being greedy apart from once when it was caused by bad belts - lack of maintenance and therefore self inflicted)

Yup. Folk don't realise they have to listen to a machine. I have in the past and still do when putting leafy material in, knee the stop bar before the no stress kicks in then activate it again to only feed a little at a time so it can clear the chamber.

  4. I would think all knows vehicle insurance has gone up silly. Mines gone up over 500 quid for nowt.

Anyhow one interesting thing I found out was that :

you do not use or accrue ncb with a fleet policy. (Specifically talking ncb here. You would get some sort of no claim history with that company)

Your ncb only lasts 2 years if you do not use it....

Before fleet policy I had 13 years on one vehicle and 10 years on another....

Catch 22 now if i don't get a policy that accepts ncb before mid November they are gone.

Does anyone bother with ncb now ?

Anyone just though about their circumstances now? As I've just made you aware?

Kind of pissed to leave the ncb behind if I continue fleet policy....

2 truck and 1 tractor, though tractor could be insured separately for me.

if you try aviva insurance and try to put modified in, it come up we cannot insure you over the inter net or over the phone. This is purely due to the chip box which I'm sure would be classed as a modification?

Anyhow just hope folk haven't sleep walked into loosing their ncb.

Imagine if you finishnup business in the next few years and need to insure a car for yourself and back with no ncb

I had one, which I almost never used so sold it to another member on here. @
Unlike a saw you can’t drop start it, so if you don’t follow the procedure outlined in the manual and it doesn’t fire up straight away, you can have a frustrating morning.

Yes I know the can't drop start. And yes probs should read the manual here 😆  had a couple of times it wouldn't start and would have head scratch but would then start lol 😆 wtf....

It's me and the lads though not the winch 😀

Had similar problems with MS660 tanks.

Try the wet and dry on a flat plate of metal and ensure the mating surface is flat and not deformed by rubbing lightly.

You could use a bit of "engineering blue" on it to see what the surfaces are doing under compression.

You could inspect the innards of the tank neck and make sure they are not deformed or damaged.

You could try cutting another seal out of something like EPDM and placing it UNDER the existing one.

Failing that, chuck a match in the tank and claim on the insurance:scared1:

It shouldn't be rocket science and can imagine a lot of swearing and laughing once you find the issue!!

Definitely feel a right spanner for not sorting it yet lol 😆 but it's been low down on priorities if not been used.

Wet and dry top of tank is next step I think like you say!

Ahh and yes engineers blue. Forgot about that stuff.

One day I may get to the bottom of it but for the other day a glove and zip tie had to do lol 😆 😅
