Without knowing the scale/terrain of the sites its hard to be precise, but I would go for a 40cc cowhorn handlebar strimmer with 3mm+ square line/a big 60cc backpack blower to clean the slabs off plus a small boy with a tarp/large plastic rake to deal with the residual grass clippings where needed.Pay him with hamburgers and gravely point out the end result of disagreeing with his elders by nodding at some of the artistic momuments?

Prefer a straight shaft strimmer for the churchyards, more manouverable, and a hand blower works fine, just need a small boy to help out !!

  2. Thanks for all the replys, only trouble with the hayterette is that there is no drive, im 55 so not wanting to push a mower for 7 hours a day, one of the churchyards is on a hill too, im knackered with a driven mower at the end of the day, 30 odd years at it has  taken its toll on my poor knees etc

  3. Have picked up 3 churchyard contracts and a few other rough cut jobs so far this year, all just cut and leave, too uneven for my toro timemaster, any suggestions on what would be the best mower, would be nice to have the option to bag aswell, looking at the shaft drive  21 inch weibangs, any thoughts, i know etesia are the dogs dangly bits but out of my price range

    Cheers

I got stung the other week by one of those small wasps. Back of the neck. Within a minute my face and neck had swollen and i had an itching in my throat. My whole body came out in hives.

I've always had fairly bad localised swelling from wasp stings but this was something else. Took a handful of antihistamines and felt rough for the rest of the day.

Emailed my Dr who's referred me to get an allergy test and given me a prescription for a pair of epipens.

Im still waiting for dr appiontment 5 days after my experience even though i have told them what happened

My understanding is that an earlier sting sets up the immune system to react so that the next sting makes a big immune response that drives the body into shock, the antidote to which is adrenaline.

When orange was chosen as the Hiviz for working on the railway one of the reasons given was that the yellow attracted insects.

    Useful info there, thank you

  6. A bit random but stay with me

I wear these safety glasses while strimming,  hedge cutting etc

Twice now i have been stung on the ear by a wasp, yesterday i had a bad reaction and ended up flat out on a lawn where the owner found me and called an ambulance, im now waiting on doctors phone call to test me for allergy to wasp stings

Firstly , would getting stung on the ear be worse than other places and thats why i reacted badly ( first time i have had bad reaction ) ??

And secondly would these glasses and logo in particular look like another wasp/hornet/bee and thats why my ear was stung ??

    Any thoughts on this

    Cheers

Is this related ? anyone else having similar problems ?

Is it me or does the E10 look/feel waxy, and smell different, i see super unleaded is still E5 , might try that

    Cheers

  8. My wife and her friend have taken up going for long walks and have had a few problems with phone signals etc when they get in low ground/wooded areas

They have got " what 3 words etc but i do worry when they are not contactable

Is there a better way to communicate.. 2 way radio or some sort of military/ gps  or better  smart app etc

    Cheers

  10. Right, really got a hankering for the shogun 3.2...ive seen a 2015 with 33000 on the clock for £22k and a 2015 with 62000 on the clock for £19k, both have full mitsubishi service history, same spec etc, both from same dealer..does 30000 miles make much of a difference on these old bruisers ?

    Ill get me coat

    cheers

    Mike

  11. Tell me to sod off if you like but .....

You know the drill by now !

  12. Looking maybe to buy a low mileage shogun 3.2 auto, are the mpg figures really bad ? i know its a big old heavy dated 4x4 but can i achieve 30 mpg with a lightish right foot ? i wont be towing and will drive a mixture of motorway and rural with some off road in the winter

Just wondering if anyone on here has one or can give me some feedback,

Bizarrely enough, my Husky 525 blower which has been ran exclusively on Aspen started playing up at the exact time this thread was started! And I’m called Mike too, @miker have you unleashed a hex or annoyed a witch who has cursed all Husky blowers owned by people called Mike?! 😂

Jokes aside, I mentioned this to my good friend @Gray git who reckons it just needs some tuning to alleviate the problem which is down to the cold weather we’ve been having. He did explain it all to me but I was drinking beer so the information has been forgotten. Seems plausible though and I’ll let him sort it for me as he is such a good guy 😜

This is getting more spooky by the hour lol. hope you get sorted
