Looks a tad over done tome too I'm afraid, with mine I've always had the oven door open and the gas on the lowest setting and have found it takes some where in the region of 8 hrs to dry.
if you freeze it and allow it to partially thaw it makes it easier to cut into thinner strips if that's how you like it.
What did you marinade it in? I've tried several improvised recipes but my fave has to be just sprinkling with chilli flakes and brown sugar.

Cheers Jon Some one else said to get cast and i'll have a look at euro heat but would like to hear from a clearview owner as these appear to be stainless..

Very impressive mate I'm just hoping your next thread is titled "log collection vehicle" (I'm sure there's a smilie thing that winks somewhere but i can't see it).

Sorry if this has been done before but having been overwhelmed with general info on stoves I wondered if you good folks could tell me briefly what stoves you use and the pro's and cons of them.
I hopefully am soon to be moving to a bungalow that (hopefully) will be my last move so I want one that will last forever.
Clearview and Jotul are names that keep popping up so views on these would be helpful though I fear they may be out of my price range
Thanks
Kev

I'm sure we're all aware of underground services when grinding and how to best avoid them but what precautions do people take about other unseen dangers, yesterday not for the first time I came across asbestos and luckily managed to stop before I smashed it right up .
So should I be wearing a face (Dust) mask when grinding and if I do what level of protection will it give me?

Thanks for your time folks , I'm glad I wasn't the only one flummoxed by it. Looks like Acacia koa is the name I was looking for though the form was completely different from any pics I've found on the web but as I remember the crown was very dense so I suspect it had been pruned annually .
Thanks once again I've learnt a little bit today now i've just got to look up Laburnum broom hybrid chimera thingys.

Spotted this a tree in a private garden about a year a go unfortunately no pics of the whole tree but managed a few of the leaves so hopefully someone can help.
As I remember it was about 15 ft tall with only about 5ft crown spread though I don't know if this was its natural form.Hopefully if the pics attach you will be able to see two distinct types of foliage one lot mimosa like and the others like a skinny dogwood.
Any help would be helpful.
cheers

I just had a browse through their website, they do look a well-made ladder. One or two issues with larger ladder/step assemblies:
1) Transportation, you need a fair sized vehicle to carry these about
2) Weight, I notice many of the ladders etc are in the 150-200kg range, given that the max a man should lift is 25kg, how many crew will you put down on the risk assessment to manouvre these about on site?
3) Cost, you can get a half decent long reach hedge cutter for the price of these.
The ones I use are their "skymasters" they get you to about 5m as steps, not to heavy and under £300 I think.

I notice no one mentions using bigger steps , I use the zarges ones with the extra extension and they get me scarily high especially over nice hard roads.

Your groundie seriously left his laces undone? was this on day 1 that he twisted his ankle? I'll bet he insisted on wearing an extra-long silk tie around the chipper and chainsaws, too, right?
His logic was...?
you've got laces on your boots for a reason fool. Common sense!
"Act AS IF...!!!" ~ D. Stice
Sorry should have written "didn't do his boots up properly" he used to tie them round his ankles rather than use all the loops. Don't think logic was involved.

Personally I like to keep my bony ankles nicely covered , had a groundie that insisted on not doing his boots up until he twisted his ankle whilst lugging logs .
boots all day long for me..

If the woods no good why did they cut all those old monsters down then
-
Don't know for sure but I've seen alot die off when they've been clipped tight late summer and I think the frost gets to them . Cypress Aphid also causes a problem and dry summers don't help much either. Mainly seems leylandii and maccies are affected worst. hope this helps.

Disconnected mine from behind the glove box a few months ago all it set off was the warning light and passed the mot fine.

Ringing up and splitting all this lovely wood. I've got a few lengths of Yew maybe 6ft long and 12 inches diameter and was wondering if anyone had any experience of selling or ideas of what else I could do with it.
Cheers.
