  2. the old ones got knackered cause the gudgeon pin retaining clip snapped and got wedged between the piston and cylinder and scored the hell out of both. havent pressure tested it though as i dont have the kit. surley if there was no pressure it wouldnt fire with fuel in the air intake would it?
  3. yeah was looking at stripping it tomorrow. dont think its the rings as ive just put a new piston and cylinder in as the old one got buggered! cheers
  4. yeah went quite well. only the instructer and assessor said its quite a bit harder due to stupid wordy questions. is this the only change or have others changed? only ive got my cs31 and cs 38 booked for march!
  5. yeah basically saw wont start now cause there is no fuel getting to the cylinder. i know its this cause i put a tad in the airintake and it fired up breifly. any ideas on what it could be or how easy to fix? cheers
  6. yeah i think so. ive ordered this HUSQVARNA 340 345 CYLINDER PISTON - UPGRADE KIT TO 350 on eBay (end time 09-Jan-10 18:27:17 GMT) to try and fix it. it was an awesome saw before it died. hope i've ordered the right bit!

  10. it wasn't the same dealer. i bought it second hand so can't say much really. was thinking of getting a 346xp...

FOOKED! took it to get looked at and he took it apart infront of me. it had a newish piston and cylinder put in but not a genuine husky one a chinese one and the piston cir-clip pin snapped off and has gouged a line in the piston and cylinder. so, new saw..... which one? i want a husky but just starting out so not sure what to get. any ideas would be ace, cheers.

  13. basically i'm an electrician who has always wanted to do tree work so have now decided, screw it, i'm doing my tickets. i've booked my cs30 for 25th of jan and cs38 for 8th of march then booking my cs31, cs39, wood chipper and stump grinder asap. i need a job where i can gain experience and so i can leave my current job, any help/info would be greatly appreciated. thanks, josh oh and i'm based in torquay but willing to travel.

  19. thought it looked pretty poo, but just wasn't sure and thought i'd ask. i've not done any climbing before but i've booked my cs38 for march. so don't know what kind of kit i need really. i got a tree climbers companion which has give me a rough idea of what i need. what would you guys say the first basic essenitals are?

  22. power bar! awesome bit of kit for 25 quid, got one a while ago. just hooks on to the door frame and leaves no marks. look at it on you tube.
  23. thought so, might have been the drink that actually made me consider this as being the problem! the spark is ok but i'm going to take it to the dealer.
