  3. I have had a call today, from a lady recovering from the big 'C' and to help her keep busy, she was asking if I had come across any timber from a monkey puzzle tree that she could turn on a lathe (I believe the request to be quite genuine) or any other specialist timber, she has someone willing to teach her already. I thought that maybe we could all put aside financial gain for a moment and pull together to help out. I am sure she can not handle full trees so smaller donations are welcome. The request is really for Scotland and Im sure with the network and all of the travelling around the Highlands all of us seem to end up doing, that we could sort this. I am happy to pick up and deliver. Any sensible suggestions would be welcomed. The lady knows nothing about this post and I would hope this would be a fantastic surprise. Please contact me at Strutt & Parker Banchory Office or my mobile 07971555102 Paul Manson. Thank you all in advance.
  4. We are currently looking for a hard working, experienced all rounder, Chainsaw certificates, climbing or at least aerial rescue and climbing to join a growing Arb Team in Aberdeen. CS Certificates to NPTC standard are required. The work is varied and this will require flexibility, experience of landscape works, ground works, would be an advantage as would tractor driving and general knowledge of machinery. This is a full time post. We are also looking for hard workers for the landscape department with experience. The grounds maintenance department is looking for hard working operatives again knowledge of machinery would be an advantage. Please contact June in the office on 01224319624 or email your CV to [email protected] We look forward to hearing from you regards Paul
  5. Thumbs up to the Big H my 357 XPG is smaller but a stormer for every thing, Flawless
  6. RE 660 hot handle. Ah ha Just spoke to Stihl UK and guess what they had never heard of this problem. However they said that they would investigate the problem if the saw is returned via any Stihl dealer with proof of purchase, they will return the saw and here I quote "hopefully like a new saw" with a report and finding on the problems. They asked what I thought the problem was? Doh I'm just a designer and Lumberjack what would I know, this was the technical department getting technical. So my new Alaskan mill will just have to wait for a saw. Not happy! Oh I thought Stihl was pronounced as it looks apparently not its Sccccilll hey ho I'm stupid though. So I have a Scccill M(u)S(hy)660
  7. I thought that My 660 was the best thing since my 460 just got the old girl out of mothballs as the 660 is unusable. Been back to the dealers but its still like paper mashy when its hot therefore unusable chain brake (oh they have never seen this before just the last time I took it in) a very reputable dealer. Well its a testimony to all the dealers at least they are consistent and all say "Strange I've never seen that before, its a good saw though" err but when is a saw not a saw mmmm? Strange that most of them read the posts here and Advertise. It would be good to have the manufacturer replace the saw with one that works.
  8. Hi there, I am a Climbing COSS and have all NPTC tickets and more, I know of others if I could not make it. Regrads Paul:thumbup:
