Hello all. Been using this site as an outsider for a while and thought I would finally join you all!:
Since I started Tree related stuff last September Ive been scouting out for really impressive trees. Theres one that tops the bill. If theres many of you who live in the Norfolk/Suffolk area I strongly suggest you take a visit.
The tree in question is from what ive been told is THE first Plane tree planted in Britain, I have climbed her twice now and it is by far the largest tree I have ever seen, let alone climbed. She has a crown span of over 180 ft wide and 120ft in height. The limb walks are intense, The climb unbelievably fun. the views consist of lakes, woodland and a stately home. It is a beauty. I dug out a pic for you all to see, imagine the cankers being human size and you can begin do understand its sheer size. Maybe we can even organise a climb one day!
