  13. Hi I have to make the owner an offer and im not sure on the value, every thing works fine, it drives fine and every thing which i thought was a bit dodgey he has fixed, Could anyone help. Is there a going rate for this type of machine? someone has told me ballpark £15,000 i thought bit much more like £13,000
  14. appologies, but in mine and Sheasbys area (south west) it is mainly Tilhill on the railway.
  15. Having staff with PTS is a good start but you will need a COSS and then you will need railway specific insurance to cover you to to work on network rail property (track side) And your Health and safety will have to be tiptop just to get sponsored. Sorry if i sound negative. Who is upm tilhill? the biggest harvesting/forestry company in the UK!!! They do nealy all the deveg in the most of the country. Sadly if you are thinking of going direct for Network rail this is who your up against.
  16. By the way whats LA stand for?
  17. The only way on the railway is if a large company sponsors you due to the amount of health and safty bolloks. Then you must piss in a cup and pass a medical befor you can even try and get your PTS ticket. And with all the cut backs in Network Rail and redundencies lots of contractors are being laidoff they are only keeping the best in there areas, Think i have told you this befor but try Robert Mullis (Bob) he is based in W.Somerset and as far as im aware has all that area rapped up fairly well all the way from Taunton to Paington and dont forget the WS steam line. If he has no work for you he will know the best way in to it may be.
  18. 28k a lot of money for some thing which runs of a ride on lawn mower engine.
  19. How much are you looking for this setup?
  20. Still weighing up my options between this or a new alpine tractor which i can run a good flail for doing scrub cleareance and still run a good winch. There is no 3 point linkcage which has put me of a bit because it will be hard to make it pay for its self with just a winch and grab, where as the alpine i can do topping and flailing for rich horsey people and still use it on the railway. Plus i can tow it on the back of my truck! Swings and roundabouts Anyway its not available till December so i dont have to rush. If im not interested i will let you have his phone number by email.
  21. my wife saw straight through you! Good attempt. So the general verdict by everyone is good machine, and nice setup with the crane. I was also looking at a valtra at J Wilsons but was worried about it being top heavy as it has a roofmounted crane, I know everyone says roofmounted is dead handy but i have driven a small county with similar crane and the slightist stump and it felt like she was going over:001_huh:
  22. Im not sure? he did say
