It's rare for the FC or Forestry England to have hand cutters.
Some Timber contractors normally pay by the cube for felling etc but others may pay day rate if you are dealing with oversized or roadside trees.

I’m jack 24years old, Looking for a few days a month work in or around salisbury. I am currently employed working around London but I have recently got a place in West Harnham, Salisbury. I am mainly looking for work on Mondays/Friday or Saturdays a few times a month, but that will be increasing in June when I will be full time in Salisbury. I have all my tickets for chainsaw, climbing, Ariel rescue and grinder also CAT C license. I am pretty new to the game only been doing tree work for 1 year but I am keen to learn and to get stuck in to any challenges that arise. I was in the British Army as an infantry soldier for 5 years being deployed to Afghanistan/Africa/Canada/Ireland/Germany before reaching out to the tree side. If you are able to help me out with this then that would be fantastic.

Depends on the consent the landowner signed. Sometimes the owner will say for it to be removed but contractors would rather stack & let wood fairies help themselves.

You need Ua1, 2.1, 5.1 & 5.2 to survey on the powerlines as already stated some DNO's require BTI & or PTI.

You need to be put on them by an employer working on National Grid contracts.

It's a figure of speach. Normal people are taxed anything between 0% & 20% when I lived there pending on family circumstances, then you have the "Goods & services tax" which is similar to our vat.
