  1. No I would not.

But it sounds like your price may have been more than a little steep.

Full Rig down with a 60ft Japanese Maple in good condition 10ft away. Long drag for chipping and tight access. Overhanging two neighbours gardens.

3 man job 1 day. Pricey? I do not think so!

  2. Quoted a job today. 70ft Blue Cedar takedown. Guy told me he had no-one else in to quote and would be happy to give me the job if the price was right.

Was told by the client he was happy with quote £425. Shook hand on it and I said we would do our best to do the Job this Saturday.

On leaving, saw one of my competitors over the road.

30 mins later, my phone rings, client says in a funny sort of voice, ah yes I totally forgot to tell you, I had arranged for another quote last week.

He eventually told me this Guy had knocked on the door after I had left and undercut me by £225.00:thumbdown:

    Would you stoop so low?

  3. Somebody else will have to post up the results I have tried posting twice and each time the system has thrown me out into the login screen which I then login again and the message does not get posted.

    Renewable John,

Was at Chelford last week and saw the soaking wet logs for sale. Did not hang around for the auction.

Did you manage to get the prices though?

  4. Just finished a'day off' stripping down all my saws and sharpened 18 chains.

Ready to rock and roll again.

I just have a bucket full of chains and change them as soon as they dull. There's nothing more irritating than having to stop and sharpen , rather get it right using the good old vice and file.

  5. hi,i do have a 15 ton hyd press if ever you need one to straighten anything, and i'm only 20 odd miles from you.

cheers mate, i'll see if it will bend with some heat. may give you a call.

  6. Just finished a job in Winterley (Cheshire) when I heard a loud bang and scraping noise coming from the trailer............My Jo Beau 300 :blushing:had jumped out!

Forgot to check the tailgate was locked.

I have bent the front bar. Anyone any thoughts on re-bending it back?
