Andy, we need to talk. Next time you take some ash trees out give me a call.I'd gladly make you a csh offer for the wood........or a crate of wine?

  2. What you do with your kids is your matter. You worry too much! My children grew up knowing they can do and play no matter what. If dad's away they still knew he loved them. As you have said on many occasions, life is too short, enjoy every moment with your children but don't spoil it by worrying about what if's........... does that make sense?

  3. Yeah Dan at Chelfords has told me all about you . Im sure you can get something from the chemist for that .:001_tt2:

Have you seen that Beech yet ? . Are you using the husky climbing saw .

Sorry Andy, not been on for a while, had the man flu. Am using a ms200t the rest are huskys. 357xp and 362xp. Was thinking about a bigger saw and Dan said he thought you have one for sale.

Not yet though says the wife.

I'll have to go down and have a look at this Beech though, is it still there?

  4. Are there any recorded instances of Climbers saving their life through applying wound dressings before decending?

It would be interesting to know on what parts of the body climbers most often cut themselves whilst aloft.I am betting that its arm or hand.In the case of either injury, the time spent fumbling for a first aid kit on a harness and then attempting to apply it one handed might be better spent decending?

Cut my thumb with the silky, was down and out of the tree in 15 secs and my groundie had already got the kit out ready..good groundie, trained him well.

  5. When i went on holiday to Gairloch, i found a great little shop that sold arran wool open mittens. I have used them a few times in the cold. They are really warm even though your finger tips are exposed.

  6. Thanks for taking the time to sign up and post on this thread :thumbup1::thumbup::thumbup1:

Great vid. A true pro climber. It should not matter how the tree was felled. It was safe, and the guys looked like they had a great time from the photos. Appreciate watching pros do a job like that. It's not OUR timber, so what the hell?

  7. I always ask if it would be at all possible to clear the dog foul at least 2 days before . And also not let the dog foul again without picking it up straight away . Other wise if theres mess on the morning of the job I will walk . I have been known to pick the odd one up but it is not on really .

Same here. There's nothing worse than doggy doo on your spikes half way up a tree. stinks like hell.
