  4. What have people found best for removing dirt, sap and grime on chippers, stump grinders and general machinery. I know there’s quite a few products for cleaning with a pressure washer. Anyone tried snow foam?
  5. The other issue I can see is that transporting an alpine tractor with trailer crane looks a bit tight on a flat bed trailer
  6. I guess it’s a hard sell to start with but like you say if they aren’t bothered about making money and take the view that your making the wood better in the long run. I guess private woodland owners are the target market rather than through a land agent as they do want to see a profit.
  7. What’s the viability of using an alpine tractor for extraction work, is there a market for it or is it few and far between. I know a lot of land owners are low impact conscious these days but I can’t help thinking it would be hard to make it pay. what’s peoples thoughts?

  15. Just out of interest has anyone got any old pictures of them doing tree surgery or forestry say pre 2000 It would be cool to see how far equipment and techniques have come.

  18. Looking for somewhere to tip a couple of loads of chip off at the weekend got a job that way
  19. The main thing I stress about is when I book a job in and think, is this going to be doable in a day. Or have I booked too much in for that day. The silly thing is when I book it in I must believe it's doable otherwise I wouldn't book it in. So from that moment until I complete the job which 90% or the time we complete with no problems I worry out it. If we ever did run over I know I could always rearrange things but I think it's the worry of letting people down.
