  12. if you are any good with a welder do it yourself much cheaper than these body builders.these places do a lovely job but with some good research and looking around you can do a good job youself. even if i had the money i woundnt give it to them ive started doing mine into a tipper and done a lot of pricing of alloy and steel and depending on size you want the costs are not mega expensive.i rekon mines going to cost around £600 by the time i finish 8 by 6 chip body with toolbox in the proper alloy planks.
  13. just out of intrest what height do you lads do you chip boxes.
  14. ive had a 04 ranger for about 6 months cant fault it good on the juice if you dont thrash it.plenty of power.its the first 4x4 ive had and im impressed with it done a fair few jobs with it now and started realising its downfalls is tool storage and not havin a tipper.so ive started doing a conversion on it was a bit confused at first how to do it but they was a guy on here who pointed me in the right direction.mc garth cheers mate.bought a transit back and tipping gear chopped to 8 by 6 finishing that this week.just started making the sides with a toolbox fitted in.ill post some pics when i finish.never owned a defender but will in the future they look the bussiness in full arb trim..
  15. ive had a y reg cabstar total shed i might of just got a bad one single axle really hairy with no weight in the back ending up going round a roundabout lost the back end staight into a tree.a mate of mine had a 57 plate one hes just got rid and got a toyota dyna he rekons the quality is much better.looked into buying a canter and the parts are real expensive when they go wrong.stick with a pikey transit i say......

  20. what do you rekon the chip box weight was.i took the tub of the ranger and there not light must be at least 150kg maybe more.an alloy chip box must be lighter than the metal tub.that was the biggest worry making one then realising the weight capicty has been reduced
  21. hello to all.i want to convert my ranger to a tipper sick of unloading it by hand.has anyone ever done this on a jap pick up.ive spoke to a mate and he rekoned you can cut a transit back down to size.any info pics would be great before i start hacking and slashing..
