  1. Nice work, sad to see what must once have been a pretty grand tree end up in such a state, great to see it being used for habitat tho, something which isn't done enough in my opinion! Where abouts is the tree? Country park type setting?
  2. nope, cudn't be arsed with the politics. had some mates up from cornwall. you?

  3. Chinchilla? Barn(garage) owl? Garage owl is a mate of R'n'B weasel by the way, some well avante garde beats they produce! Listen out for there guest appearance on the new Akon album, absolute toure de force!
  4. Sounds like a decent setup, always loved the blakes, loved that it just felt bombproof reliable. Would try it but i've fallen in love with my lockjack! Did you ever get that pic?
  5. i use water to get the sap etc off, then use a bycycle disc brake cleaner(neat alcohol) to dissinfect it. I was taught on my rfs that there is potential for us to become a vector in the transport of disease, and was told what i'm doing is a good way to help prevent that. Obviously dragging yourself?harness?ropes over diseased tissue carries a risk of transporting disease, but dissinfecting ppe is obviously a bit more of a hassle.
  6. Mountain Bikes | Road Bikes | Cycle Clothing & Accessories Wiggle handy site for all things bike related! Set up a tv/dvd in front of it aswell, it does get rather tedious i found, good workout tho!
  7. yep, well odd little factoid, those 'quick release' caps are a pile of pony 2!
  8. it will give you the shits during the loading stage.

  12. huh, that thing looks almost artificial! quality pic!
  13. Not realy sure if these are relevant, and the quality of the first one is a bit pap, but there ya gooo.
  14. ....or is anyone else getting all excited that trees are starting to come out in leaf? I know its very sad, and it happens every year, but i've been abroad for a bit!
  15. i used the dripline as a rough guide, but have now amended, the link on Tony's first post is crystal clear. cheers guys.
  16. Hi, just wondering if anyone can give me a chapter and verse on when and what diameter a root exclusion zone should be, and what, if any, ground work is permitted in said zone? Cheers.
  17. Rode a bike into a grand fir, stopped it with my face. Sorry, not realy what you were looking for!
  18. I dont want to pollard them, my dad does, part of the reason for my asking on here was to get a few people to say what a bad idea it would be, as my dad doesn't realy trust my judgment! Im certainly more of the reduction/clean school of thought. Unfortunately the camera is on strike at the mo, just think 50ft, realy untidy lots of deadwood and a fair bit of epi'.(realy cant wait to get up there with all those spikes). Does anyone know if Robinia is particularly vulnerable to any fungal infections? I read it's got a decent resistance to Armillaria.
