  1. Ive currently got a Samsung Solid Extreme, cost me £100 unlocked. All the usual phone stuff, ive dropped it from various heights on purpose and thrown it in water, best phone to date for me.

"The casing is IP57 certified, which means it can withstand dust and water. It will cope with being immersed in a metre of water for 30 minutes, apparently. Oh, and it is compliant with Military Standard 810F too, which means it can survive salt fog, extreme heat and cold, and blowing rain"

  2. Yeah Ferrets are defo for working, ive spent many a time in winter digging hard soil, ive got locating them down to a tee, just gotta be careful at the desired height as you don't hammer the spade through the chamber, tempt it out with another rabbit if you have one, then get your own hand down the hole and have a feel around, not the first time ive been hung upside down  Might aswell post a few pics. I use the longnet for ferreting during the day, then at night i can set it out quietly along the hedge line as the rabbits are out eating, then me or whoever can work the field and scare them in. Ughhh listen to me rabbiting on :001_tongue:

  4. I've got an NC10, its a good all round machine, only had one problem with it, the screen broke, i used to take it with me to work, i may have damaged it then, there was no marks on it or anything, i sent it back, they couldn't find any dints either so they replaced the whole machine. Haven't had a problem since, well except my mum, keeps taking it. I'd recommend it. I think Mr Bullman owns one aswell, maybe he can chime in with his thoughts :laugh1:

  6. True, during the day i can charge the battery using the sun, when i get home i can then use that power to charge the laptop. That Power Gorilla though has a host of phone / laptop / usb chargers, you could power alot of things. The battery in the NC10 does last a good 6 hours though which is good! I think they would come into there own if you were working away from home or was on holiday etc.

Like i said before im a kit whore :001_cool:

  7. Ive got a 23 year old nissan micra, seats are down, in estate mode, yes ive slept in it, was quite comfy actually. Handles all the saws and kit with ease, also handles my heavy foot with just 4 gears. You need ear defenders on when doing the ton, you'll also get white finger of it aswell :scared1:

  8. Great minds think alike eh Steve, thats what im running, NC10 and an Orange dongle, watching youtube in the middle of a field is for winners :001_cool: I got a Samsung 14.7mp NV100 HD camera to match, take pics straight from cam and upload them on site. Im gonna buy a power gorilla and a solar gorilla soon.

I know we don't get much sunshine here, but it's one step further to being self sufficient.

  10. Hmm, i thought it was gonna cost more than that. Took it to work today, we were only tidying up 3 huge willows, it really did look like a bombsite, did a quick show and tell, hysterical laughter, followed by a double take, then more laughter, the lads that were there thought it was crazy and cool at the same time. As and when i use it, i'll give ya my evaluation of it.

    Dan

  11. Yes i might ice myself with it. I'll probably use it once, i do find it somewhat sexual, its new and shiny and rare, maybe its just me, i didn't have owt growing up, everyone had stuff like playstations before me, who else has one of these other than me :001_cool:

    Im a kit whore. :001_tt1:

Just think black stein helmet with the smoked vizor and the katanaboy, i shall be known as arborninja. :001_cool:

    Dan

  12. Only ordered it last week, Silky themselves were meant to contact me but never did so i went elsewhere, and at a cheaper price. :001_cool: Same when the Stein helmets came out, i do believe i was the first to have one of those with chipper muffs on, Jonesie had to build up a set, then forgot to put the screws in the box!

    I love new kit :001_tt1:

  13. E-Mail i received;

    Good morning Dan

I'm just sending this to let you know that the Katana Boy you have ordered is slowly on it's way and should be with you early next week. As you may know this saw is incredibly hard to get hold of and I believe your's is the very first delivered in the UK! :001_cool:

Apologies for the delay because my customers normally receive their orders within 3 days but I'm absolutely sure the wait will be worth it. I am very interested to hear how you get on with the Katana, I have several Silky saws that I use frequently but imagine this one will eclipse the others, would you mind letting me know what you honestly think of it after you've given it a work out?

    Kind Regards and Happy Sawing

Alot of phones can survive being dropped, mine included. Only on occasion when we are away from the trucks do we ever take a phone with us. I mean what are the chances of it falling into water or if it falling out of a tree, kinda like will i have an accident today, should i wear my shorts or chainsaw trousers. Do i buy a car with airbags and seatbelts. At the end of the day i just want a phone to make a call off, that can take a knock and wont die if it came into contact with water. It actually cost me the same as my old 3310.

Another thing everyone took the piss out of that multi chainsaw tool when i showed them, saying "they could make something like that but cheaper". Chains do fall off at the most furthest possible place from the truck and im thinking do i make them walk a mile back, down a valley and back up crossing a stream in the middle, or do i make them eat humble pie and let them use it.

    /rant over

No i haven't had a bad day lol
