Does anyone else find their 2511 ticks over (idles) very fast. The chain is plenty tight enough but still seems to spin on tick over. If I give the throttle a little blip sometimes it does seem to help and the engine drops back to a slower tick over rate. Maybe it'll be better after a few more tanks of fuel through it.

I have reduced the price of my BDB a bit now if anyone is considering one. cheers j

The only thing that I've noticed with the 2510tes is that it seems like there is significantly more vibration than with the ms150. But I suppose with such a small light weight engine/body it's difficult to suppress this vibration. I haven't yet from echo about the recall. I can't see anything on the uk website about it. As far as a replacement saw. I'd really like to try the cs360 rather than the cs280. I think they're pretty similar in price, So it'd be great if that was a possible option.

It looks like the rings are fixed so the bridge would be replaceable unless you were changing for a self tied rope type.

I finally had the sprocket, bar and chain changed for the echo carving ones and it seems better than the original ones which came with the saw. I had a chance to compare to the ms150. It's definitely smaller than the 150, the weight difference just about noticeable. The build quality seems good- chain brake feels more sturdy. Ticking over and revving up the stihl sounds more refined and smoother. I think it probably has more throttle speed settings and seemed to be producing less vibration than the echo (couldn't find any vibration data for it) . Obviously the echo isn't run in yet so will prob improve. Both decent little saws which past generations of tree surgeons would have marvelled at! J

I received mine from forest and Arb today. I called them before I bought it to confirm it had the 1/4 carving bar but it arrived with the standard bar. Hmmm The carving bar option is specified as the cs2510tesc. It looks like the shindaiwa 250ts and 250tcs are identical to the echo just in different livery. They're both under the same parent company.

I've been wearing the orange haix for quite a while now. They are hard wearing boots and waterproof. They are v comfortable but quite a tall boot and tend to rub my leg when I'm doing ground work. Climbing wise they're ok but bulky and kinda clumsy and v slippery in the wet- even on the ground. This summer they have been very hot. My feet get so damp they look all wrinkled like I've spent several hours in the bath! I Wouldn't buy them again. I have had 3 pairs of the brown haix trekker mountain which I think are pretty good all round boots. Not bad for climbing or on the ground. The soles usually wear out and/or split from the boot but they last reasonably well.

<p>The Bulldog Bone has had some pull testing done by a rope manufacturer. The Bone is unrated. The Bone is 260.00 + 40.00 s/h to the UK. There is also a VAT at your end that seems to run about 45 pounds according to previous Buyers. I do require a signed disclaimer with each Bone user. Thanks. Gordon</p>

I climb using Ddrt. and from what I've read it would still work in that configuration. have they gone through any sort of stress testing procedure. have you rated their strength? I just applied to brigdewater college to do the aa tech cert and they left it till the last minute to tell me they've decided not to run the course. I noticed you're in somerset and I just wondered where you're studying the course?
