  1. I worked on a (not for certain, but the owners checked church records and is very likely)600 hundred year old yew tree, rear garden, out of site from the road, and 'not in the public eye'. Beautiful tree, just removed a few bits of dead, very light re-shape, and slight crown raise. Checked before hand, and NO TPO...did it not warrent a tpo? Sure it did if some one was planning on felling it for no other reason than they didn't like it.
  2. Kind of you to say treewizard, and though I say I don't sell them, I've just noticed that I state on my website that I do....MMmmm....what's it worth then Treewizard? Did you want it in a frame and all that caboodle, or just a print?....And I'm guessing here that we shouldn't be talking about sales on here am i right...cough.....its just a hypothetical question of sales and prices, ...honest
  3. Entirely in his court, if he wanted to go down that road then there's nothing you can do, but at least (I feel) we did the right thing. Better than felling the trees just because the guy wanted to look at a field rather than a row of trees, (his garden was massive, no reason at all to fell them APART from the fact he didn't like trees. I'm no tree hugger, and I do understand some trees NEED to be felled for various reasons, but this job was not for one of those reasons.
  4. Thanks for the welcome guys, great site! I've already found so much that I could comment on on here, feel like if I'm not careful I could become hooked on this. Never been into forums and such, tried Arborisite for a while, but found very little that I could relate to being a predominately American based site, but feel very much at home here. (puts on slippers, sips his Horlix, and relaxes) Anyhoo, back to the point...Steve, just a hobby to be truthful, hey I cut trees for a living, far more fun!
  5. Good for you Mark, totally with you on that one! The guy I use to work for, many years ago, quoted for a guy that was adamant that he wanted a row of eight or so specimen Scots pines to be felled in the rear of his garden. My mate phoned the council, found out there were no tpo's on the trees, and so asked if they could rush a tpo order through on them. A week later my mate got an apologetic phone call from the house owner saying that we wouldn't be able to do the job as he had found out the trees we tpo'd. Never forget that, thought that was such a cool thing to do. (never did find out how HE found out about the tpo's, but he had no idea it was us)
  6. Hi all, newby Simonsnr here, thought I'd show you a few of my drawings I have done to introduce myself. Not exactly photo's, but of trees none the less. There are more on my website, just thought i'd show you a few of my favs. All of them have been drawn on site, (not copied from photos). The first two at Norsey woods, Billericay, and the third at Thorndon park, Brentwood, Essex.
