  1. As loler inspectors we are human, for the record a missing wire inwouldnt have passed it. Ropes are not as clear cut. I may pass a rope someone else would fail, and vice versa. On the loler assessment they have been careful to avoid grey areas. Same as corrosion on an mot it's up to the individual to make a decision, and one that if required they could defend on court

  2. I would argue that MBS is minimum breaking strength ie the limit up to which the product is guaranteed and will fail quite a bit above that. Tensile strength is the absolute maximum value of strength at which the material will fail.

10:1 ratio for fabric, 5:1 for metalwork although there are some exceptions such as certain slings

  3. You will get customers. I'd stay away from climbing if you're proving the van and chipper means you get to control what goes through it etc. A lot of lads working for firms will give you work as they have the skills but not the equipement, but tends to be weekend only

  4. Depends how bigger pedestrian grinder you can get in, and how strong you are. If you've never used one before it will take a lot longer than you realise! Plus teeth aren't always the best on hire machines.

I think I'd put two days on it with a basic pedestrian grinder. If you could get a HB20 or similar a lot less time.

Without seeing the job, access, ground conditions etc etc I would guess £500ish
