:thumbup1:I am looking for a LOLER inspector in the North West Area if anybody can help me out.
Thanks.
I can do that for you, [email protected] or 07799444848
Give me a shout and I'll get you sorted out

If its a plastic one then throw it in the bin as chances are it wont work anyway.
TBH IME it is a waste of time greasing needle bearings unless you have your saw idling for a big percentage of the time. OK pump it a bit when you are doing a bit of TLC but as a daily/weekly routine dont bother. Once the chain is moving the bearing is redundant.
The MS261 was a drum issue not a grease/bearing issue.
Had this issue on a 261, got the new bits from Skyland and been fine ever since (I did replace the needle bearing to start with as one of my subbies had a spare and it lasted about 15 minutes)

I've just brought a 16hp Launtop will see how it goes. I had all the above problems with my honda engine before it seized. That was after the last one snapped the conrod....

This reminds me of a job I need to do. Anyone know what it's like on a Vermeer bc1000....
-
Make sure it's not the full day you're supposed to be there for - a few people have fallen foul of this! What company is it you'll be working for?
-
That was my plan! But i just needed the shaft size
-
Cool I'll take a look in the morning and failing that I can measure it
-
Not got the grinder near me, someone seized the engine the other day so looking to replace it. Anyone know off the top of their head what size the shaft is, with 25.4mm or 25.0mm or tapered shaft (pretty sure it's not)
Or anyone got an engine for sale....

Had a similar issue with mine and was a completely blocked air filter? First place to start maybe? But maybe more serious?

Your address on the mobile website to put in the sat nav ;-)

Aren't they shear bolts - single use?
-
Whatever you try, be careful and
do not damage the engine. I'm currently waiting for parts for mine - after two weeks all I know is that they are between Italy and the UK and will be here 'soon'.
All I needed was a valve guide.. but no its a whole new cylinder head. and £££££
What engine is it?

I can do this for you often in Salford for the council contract if you would be happy having it done one evening?
Drop me a line 07799444848 or [email protected]

Definitely the right size chain sorry if that's obvious but a 325 chain will be a different length to a 404

Or hire someone in with machine?

It says 2 arbs reporting rather than 2 reports. Confused? You will be after......
It never does take a lot though does it!
-
Let the neighbour (and possibly the tree officer) have a go on the swing. They're just being grumpy because no one's invited them round....
sounds like a job I got sent to for the council, go take this swing down, I've got two hours, went and had a good play on it, then almost forgot to take it down!
-
Why two reports? Doesn't make sense to me to do this from the start. Two reports could say completely different things, without either being right or wrong, as it will come down to the interpretation of the person writing the report!

Just starting out doing weekend work by myself, not got to the stage of employing people yet. Any bigger jobs I will enlist the help of a groundie.
IMO opinion if you're climbing you should have a groundy. If you haven't priced for one you're not charging enough. De valuing the industry.
Yes I have done the odd job by myself but it's never the right way!

The Lifans seem too cheap to be any good???but I've no experience to confirm that. I would prefer a Honda engine as the current one has done well for me.
I haven't tried one yet but I will do! My experience with Honda engines has not been good :-(
-
A few people have changed them to Lifan engines which seem to be fairly cheap. I've got a spare Honda engine but I keep it as a spare as I've had nothing but trouble with them

Loler inspector has no right to destroy or dispose of kit so I'd expect all the kit back with a pass/fail sheet
